The thing is though, that's part of what has separated Chelsea (and largely other Mourinho teams as well) from other (actual) top teams. Real, Barcelona and Bayern dominate their opposition, and even if a couple clutch moments go against them, they still usually win. Mourinho seems to rather have specialized at winning marginal games. Basically, Chelsea is indeed running bad. But this shows part of their weakness, and indeed Mourinho's weakness; they depend on not running bad to win. Mourinho's special ability has largely been running good, and then when he encounters a couple months of bad luck, which statistically is likely to happen over a long career for any manager, it becomes self-reinforcing, and indeed, what genuine advantage they had over their opposition (the also often self-reinforcing belief that they can always turn anything around) erodes, and they end up looking like a mediocre team. They still have enough quality in their team to be really good if stuff starts clicking again, but they probably need some games where they are 'lucky' to rediscover their top ability. | ||

Even though I like many Chelsea players and Mourinho I hope they keep losing as long as they employ Diego Costa. He is cancer to the game. | ||

everton up 2-0 everything looks good, right before half time defoe makes it 1-2. minute 50 or so sunderland equalizes. then deloufeu has a super ridiculous dive attempt, before coates scores an own goal making it 3-2 for everton. 35 minutes to go! | ||
