Your point guard can operate just fine at a 56% TS, when he is the most dominant player on every basketball court. Westbrook is assisting on over half of his team's field goals, averaging three and a half steals, he's getting to the line like 10 times a game. I believe most of the advanced statistics: adjusted plus-minus and WARP-Types, have him as among the 3 best players this season. Now, he has a zero percent chance to actually win it. But he's having an unbelievable season.
Where did I say he's not a great player? He's just not an mvp. For all the good he does, he still does a lot of bad things too (ie he doesn't have great shot selection at times).
I'd have him #4 behind curry, davis and harden (who is just crushing souls this year).

And Jimmy butler is clearly the bulls' best player. He could be a top 10 guy in a year or two. He's already playing like one.

draymond green is just being properly used i think. he's better on defense and this was true last year as well.

I think this is a very old thinking on Westbrook. He will still hoist a 27 footer from time to time, but it's usually a heat check or late in the clock. Superstars are afforded these things. Lebron James does it, so does Stephen Curry. And realistically, he does it maybe twice or three times a game. But otherwise, Russ has a crazy instinct for the game. He doesn't make many mistakes.

Rank the following from best player to worst player:
Jimmy Butler Wesley Matthews DeMar DeRozan Joe Johnson Bradley Beal

Before the season started I was thinking that if Reggie Jackson was healthy and they were all healthy then WB might have a case for one of the top 2 shooting guards/2-guard in the league. He has still had to be more of a playmaker though with the way the season has went. If they could set him up with a good PG in the back that can defend bigger guards, they could potentially be so much more. With all of them healthy ofc.

Not factoring contracts:
Butler (by far) Wes Johnson demar Beal.

So nearly 30 games in and Kevin love has been pretty bad (relative to what he was). He rode the pine in the fourth vs the magic too.
How much more "settling in" time do you give him? And if he keeps up this mediocre play, do you feel comfortable giving him a max extension?

defense is a thing eh. i didn't watch that game but love has a -25 plus minus despite scoring the most on the cavs.
looking at that shot chart, they just got rekt by 3's. not sure if love is the biggest factor with that one.

spurs give up 6 pts in 5 seconds to close the first quarter... really need a win today too

I find it funny how this forum was discussing whether this Cavs team was good enough for 70 wins during the preseason.

Love being this bad defensively is actually slightly surprising. The offense is really worrying though. Maybe having him camp out at the 3pt line and take 10 of those per game is dumber than predicted. I thought they'd be fine offensively but Love has been really, really bad at times. I don't think this is all on him because what he did the previous 2 years was no fluke.

Would you be happy to extend him at this max if he continues his David Lee imitation?
