It will be very difficult, Bayern's star players are getting old and some are almost irreplaceable. Robben had one of his best years, but it can't go on forever. Ribery seems to be past his prime, and so does Lahm. (Such a bad season for Lahm, maybe his worst in a decade or so.) Schweinsteiger is always injured, Kroos is gone and Xabi Alonso is old. Oh and Götze flopped. There is so much to do in such a short time, I doubt we will see Bayern at the level of the past few years in the near future. Unfortunately Dortmund isn't there to use their weakness. Whoever gave Lahm the thought of him being a DM ruined the last years of his career. Lahm has and always will be a wingback.

So when you respond to that you just sound bitter Lets be honest even Gary Neville your GOD pundit pretty much went and said "this is the level English clubs should aspire to" not all English clubs minus Chelsea. English clubs. I dont get all the Pep hate. Yes you can criticize him for some of his monstrosities but thats kinda the thing. Theres a fine line between genius and madness and hes always pushing it. If it works it works if ti doesnt well hes a moron, but atleast hes trying stuff and getting some results out of it. Not all positive but whatever. Hes still winning stuff just not everything. Like Mourinho doesnt have much more in the way of achievement and everyones sucking his dick. + Show Spoiler + Sorry Chelsea fans and Sharkie but that feels like everyone This idea that Heynckes'ss Bayern team would have continued to dominate Europe after one good season is also a complete copout. They barely beat Dortmund in the final who for the most part went toe to toe. The really noteworthy thing outside of any other CL run was the Barca thrashing and while quite the achievement just means you neutered an opponent really hard. The last 20 years are litered with thrashings like that by an eventual winner in the latter stages of a tournament. It happens. But short memories etc etc. This idea of that Bayern team being some sort of infallible god that was made mortal is very very pedantic. Thats why I say there was no winning by taking the job. Either repeat a treble or get shat on. No one can do that.

If it works it works if t doesnt well hes a moron, but atleast hes trying stuff and getting some results out of it. Not all positive but whatever. What results have they gotten actually gotten out of it, though? They won the Bundesliga twice and barely won the DFB Pokal against Dortmund (tied after 90 mins). It's not even close to OK to get not just beaten, but embarrassed in 2 consecutive seasons in the Semi's versus teams you should compete against. The reason Dortmund went toe to toe with Bayern in in the CL final is because Klopp is a genius. He and Simeone are the best 2 coaches in the world at getting max value from their players. Pep is going to be gone at the end of next year anyway, so why not take a stab at Klopp who in my mind is a far better fit for a team with players like muller, robben, alaba etc. If you've ever watched Dortmund you'd see that Subotic looks great in their system. Could you imagine the best left back in the world in that spot instead of him? Gotze flourished with Dortmund's fast pace counter attack system, where no he is mired in seemingly insurmountable mediocrity. Even putting aside Pep's results. He makes far too many poor lineup decisions. He also is very bad at properly utilizing substitutions and the formations are genius or madness they are just plain stupid. There is 0 excuse to not play the best right back in the world at right back. The man thinks he's smart, but he is constantly overlooking the most obvious and likely best configurations.

The DFB Pokal loss vs Dortmund was just super unlucky. Honestly, I am much more of a Dortmund fan than a Bayern fan, but still it was quite clear to me that Bayern deserved to win that game. They just had a ton of bad luck there, and were missing key players, once again. I guess Pep could have made them park the bus, Chelsea style, but the team isn't used to that and it probably would have failed miserably and pissed the fans off, too. I honestly don't think there was much Pep could do there.

All Chelsea fans would have been watching going this is a great game of football, but not thinking damn i wish we had Messi so we can play like Barca, or had half of the German world cup winning squad so we can play like Bayern lol? Gary Neville said that and i agree but thats because everyone would want a Messi or a half a world cup winning squad in there team. You can't play like Barca if you don't have a Messi in your team everyone knows that. Playing like Bayern is more of a blueprint for world football due to they have good stars who have formed a team. I edited out the next part because you wouldn't agree, but out of everyone in England who has the closest squad to Bayern? Solid back 4, good balanced midfield with attacking wide talent and a goal scoring big striker...

Pep has been making many mistakes these two years and they have just accumulated now to losses to Porto and Barca. Or are Pep fans really going to tell me giving Lahm the stupid idea of becoming a DM, selling Kroos, sending Thiago to some doctor in Spain, subbing in Robben when ahead 1-0 in DFB cup match and selling Mandzukic (another vital player under Heynkes) were actually genius decisions? Also funny how Dante and Götze became suddenly so bad under Pep.
