In other news, Danny Graham has unwittingly steered Sunderland in front with a deflection on Gomez' shot. Everton 0 - 1 Sunderland.

1-1's a decent result for both sides.

Lol, this is a team to get yourself relegated. What a shit-show Newcastle has been for the last couple of years.

Sunderland have gone from 18th to 14th place with that win.

god damnit
how many games in a row can a team actually lose? If Newcastle actually gets some points from the next games and manages to stay afloat, certainly 8 losses in a row must be one of the top losing streaks for a team that didn't get relegated?

I couldn't drag myself away from the cricket to watch Everton vs Sunderland. But great job Sunderland. That victory could be huge for them. I bet it was intense. I'll have to download the game latter this week if I get time.

Fucks sake Everton. Now we have to deal with another season of Sunderland being shit and dysfunctional.

36 points is probably the red line (I reckon one of Newcastle, Leicester and Hull will lose all remaining games), so I think Sunderland are effectively safe. But you never know with this sodding league. I just hope Leicester make it.

I hope Lester make it. I wanted Burnley to stay up, but I don't think that's happening

It's definitely possible for Burnley, but it'll be damned hard. They have to win all their remaining games and hope that Hull and Leicester lose all theirs (of which Hull looks more probable, as the two meet today). Hull's other remaining games are Stoke and Villa.

Don't worry we get Bournemouth to replace them as the tiny club fighting in the big league next year.

Newcastle (the club badly needs restructuring, and players need to fuck off), Hull (fucking boring) and QPR (lads, it's QPR) would be my dream scenario to go down. Unsure if it's actually possible.

Leicester take the lead against Southampton!

I almost kinda want newcastle to go down myself, partially cause I always liked pardew and thought sacking him was dumb, partially because it seems like one of those, it has to collapse completely before it can be rebuilt scenarios.

He wanted to leave though didnt he ? Crystal Palace, Old club comes knocking. He asked to leave and Ashley was gentleman about it if I remember correctly. Didnt even make him pay his contract buyout aswell ?

well, I guess sacked was the wrong word. More that he (because of Ashley+fans) had an impossible job - the expectation of Europa League finishes with a constrained budget. From what I read, disagreements regarding transfer funds+policy was the main reason for him quitting, but I'm guessing the fan dissatisfaction was a major contributor, and the fan dissatisfaction is also related to leadership.

Basically though what I want is for my fellow newcastle fans to chill with the ambitions unless we get a more ambitious owner.

that's what i don't get. As someone who doesn't really follow NUFC, my observation is that Mike Ashley is a real scrooge, why does Pardew get so much flak from the fans?

West Brom and their set pieces! I swear it's every game.

edit: Newcastle strike back. Perez with a deflected looking goal on my shitty LQ stream it's hard to tell.

From what I've read over intenet most Newcastle fans got frustrated that team turned from 5th palce playing nice offensive football into bootom of the table team playing long balls whole game, also that he kept buying small, fast and technical polayers that doesn't really fit his style.
