From recent transfers only Fernandinho had decent impact and it's still hard to justify 35m for him.

Joys of giving money to bad managers who don't know the league or are just straight up bad with money. Pellegrini bought shite, Mancini bought terribly. Mark Hughes before that bought even worst. City just need a manager they can keep for a while they knows England or is at least young enough to adapt. Pellegrini and Mancini are the type of managers who come into a club and don't adapt, they just try and enforce their style onto the league. Running through their squad quickly; Goalkeepers; Hart 27 - Above average good keeper. Caballero 33 - Poor and getting worst Defenders; Kompany 28 - Good solid above average defender (in poor form atm though) Clichy 29 - Good defender, nothing special offensively Kolarov 29 - Great cross, lacklustre defender Sagna 32 - Poor defender Zabaleta 30 - Great defender but in bad form Demichelis 34 - Just too old and slow for premier league Mangala 24 - Good defender, but hasn't got to grips with premier league at all Midfielders; Yaya 31 - One minute he is god, next he is terrible. Silva 29 - Second to Cesc as best playmaker in the league Milner 29 - Good solid 7/10 player week in week out but isn't a world class player Fernando 27 - Just doesn't seem to do anything, below average Fernandinho 29 - Good holding midfielder but lacklustre in passing range Nasri 27 - Like Yaya, great one game terrible the next Navas 29 - Just has done nothing since he joined Lampard old - Good squad player for 10-15 minutes hunting goals or what not. Strikers; Aguero 26 - World class, without him they wouldn't even be sitting 4th right now Bony 26 - Needs time maybe, should push Dzeko out the door Dzeko 29 - Scores, then goes games without doing anything Jovetic 25 - Had good run in the side then got injured, now can't get into it I bolded the players i think are worth their price tags and are imo worthy of walking into most squads in the world. That few amount of players for a team that has spent the money they have is quite shocking TT

All of their key players are between 22 and 26, so I guess it's just Raffael and the fringe players that push the average up. Stranzl is 34 and Brouwers 33, they both play regularly. The captain Daems (36) is still in the squad but never played this season. He played in Gladbach for 10 years and was still a regular last season.

I have to say that I'm glad that Mourinho and Guardiola left. La liga has improved a lot this last two years in the top 5 competitivity. At the Mou/Guardiola era it was common that the 3th was 20 points below the second one. And now we have: 1 Barcelona 29 matches 71 points 2 R. Madrid 29 matches 67 points 3 Atlético 30 matches 65 points 4 Valencia 29 matches 61 points 5 Sevilla 30 matches 61 points It is great to see Atletico, Valencia and Sevilla so close of R.Madrid so far in the season.

But I don't miss that 100 points leagues trophies . Back then It was impossible for the other teams to win them, and the league title was decided only in the "clasico". It was terrible for the league. Now they both loose quite often to other top/middle table teams, and the others top teams have improved. That is good for spectacle.
