And I think its pretty relevant. It ratifies that PL money means fewer domestic players. Its common knowledge and intuitive sure but numbers make it somewhat indisputable. Especially if you were to compare it to other leagues. also The fact that John Terry and Cahill push them that far up begs the question. What do you do without them. It still shows how much investment is being made in providing young talent PL experience after farming them out as far as bigger clubs are concerned. And its telling, as I said earlier, that with money available and more importantly the money thats at stake even smaller PL teams would much rather buy talent. And far as Chelsea is concerned and where they would fall. I dont think anyone really cares about any team specifically when they look at that. Its more descriptive of a trend more than anything else. No one is going to micro analyse teams off of this so dont worry about it. Additionally it can be deceptive because for example when a couple of your star/core players are English it will inflate your numbers significantly. Harry Kane for example. Its not unique players that get starts that its counting after all. | ||

Rooney and who are actually good enough to walk into international teams in the world? Or domestic teams who else could walk into a team from England national team, no one. Its hard to invest in a 30million Luke Shaw player when he is not very good TT. Thats what i get from it, the best English CB doesn't even play for England no more, the best midfielder we have has only just got back into the team in Carrick and our best attacking talent is Kane/Sterling/Barkley dont even get played properly in national team or club teams. Not much chance we have until we start fixing stuff. However the counter argument is that if said clubs in premier league played these players more they might turn into Kane but meh. You wanna risk that kind of money when you can go raid Spain or Germany for players that have played that 1 season to show they can do it? | ||

Actually since its under 23 it doesnt really point much to how many world class english players there areoverall. Just that there arent very many if any under 23. Montreal Impact vs. Club America for CONCACAF Champions League final. Montreal's run has been crazy (they were dead last in MLS last season, and are in 19th this season) but now they get the Mexican powerhouse in the final. If they won this it would be ridiculous. | ||
