Minnesota United, which currently competes in the North American Soccer League, is expected to be granted an MLS expansion franchise, according to multiple sources. An announcement should come in the coming weeks, perhaps considerably sooner than the 45-day timeline referenced last weekend by commissioner Don Garber.

Speculation has been increasing in recent months that United had taken the lead over the Minnesota Vikings in the race to bring MLS to the Twin Cities. In October, SI.com reported that Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and Twins owner Jim Pohlad joined United owner Dr. Bill McGuire’s investor group.

A month later, the group welcomed Dr. Glen Nelson, a member of the family that runs hotel and hospitality giant Carlson.

And at a recent event for United supporters, McGuire told fans, “We have saved you from having to worry about your team playing on a plastic pitch … You will be very excited about the news you hear shortly."

rumor is that zigi wolf is making a last minute push for the team being his by promiseing that the longhouse (that new billion dollar stadium thats being built for the football team) will have grass in it but MLS is more interested in the United actualy having a team and the additions its done in the off season as well as its brazilian tour to be a good fit. They've already got the land bought for the stadium which was a hurdle that miami was having trouble with.

I'm super excited for this. The MNUFC is backed by billions of dollars but still has a great grass roots vibe to it and a bitchingly awesome kit. Miguel Ibarra is also on the USMNT

It's still incomprehensible to me how Töre was still allowed to play for the national team without so much as a temporary ban.

Effenberg got suspended from the German national team during a world cup for giving the audience the finger, and he was an important player lol.

Not to the audience but teammates during training. Thomas Müller did exactly the same in WC2014. The difference was that effenberg meant it seriously and Müller acted like a poser.

Nuri Sahin, Ömer Toprak, Hakan Calhanoglu, Caner Erkin, Mehmet Topal, Onur Kivrak.(and Turan ofc)

All of these players are good enough to play on big EU teams imo. Then we have upcoming talents like Alper Potuk, Ozan Tufan, Salih Uçan and Kaan Ayhan.

Wilfried Zaha just scored a painful looking goal. Slammed into the post with the weight of him and whoever was trying to mark/stop him from a full run transfered into the frame of the goal through his back.

That will hurt. But the goal is more than compensation enough and he looks like he's O.K

edit: Palace are all over QPR by the way.

edit 2: Make myself a sandwich and Palace score two more goals. 3:0 is pretty representaive of what I saw of the first half.

Turkey reminds me of Argentina 2010. Some decent players with a lot of mediocre ones and just horrible coaching. Everytime i see them it looks like one of these national teams from the 90s or early 00s that are only good if they just outclass their opponents.

Maybe i didnt see enough games of teams coached by him but the only thing that Terim seems to be really good at is to handle all the drama and the corruption in the turkish football.
