For me Messi is truly remarkably better, much more complete. People just started doubting because he had an off-year. Now that it looks like he's back on his top form he again has absolutely no equal. That video that Steveling posted shows him being the best playmaker as well as the best striker. It's insane. For me it has always been Messi > Ronaldo >> everyone else.

For me it has always been Messi > Ronaldo >> everyone else. For me, he isnt (remarkably better), where Messi is better striker/playmaker, Ronaldo tends to work the entire field much better, i feel like Messi is a genius (so is Ronaldo too, maybe to a lesser extend) Ronaldo is a more complete footballer, which one is better ? depends on how you see the game and what you care about more, they are both gods. People only care about Goals and Assists, There so much more than that, How a player moves around the field, creating space, moving defenses for others, even retreat a few meters to defend or recover a ball. Take Rooney for example, for me he is one of the most (if not the most) complete footballer nowadays, he may not be the best at everything, he CAN do everything, something not many players in the history of football can do that, if i ever see him stopping a penalty then i would declare Rooney the most complete player ive ever seen

People only care about Goals and Assists, There so much more than that, How a player moves around the field, creating space, moving defenses for others, even retreat a few meters to defend or recover a ball. Messi is a much more complete player than Ronaldo is as evident by your argumentation. 'People only care about goals and assists': that's the exact reason why Messi is actually underrated and Ronaldo is overrated. People in fact do, and that's why Ronaldo gets more praise than he deserves. 'How a player moves around the field, creating space, moving defenses for others, even retreat a few meters to defend or recover a ball.' This exact reasoning is why Messi is a way more complete player than Ronaldo will ever be. He starts up EVERY attack and makes a shitload of space. He covers a great part of the pitch because you see him constantly picking up the ball at CDM and move forward with it. The way he controls the tempo of the game hasn't ever been seen before. Ronaldo is only better at ONE thing, and that's heading and only because he's taller/stronger. If anything, I'd consider Messi better technically with his head. The goal against Manchester United in the CL final comes to mind and he's scored a couple of great ones this season. Messi is a better finisher, better passer, better playmaker, better tempo controller, he's way better at freekicks (Ronaldo is actually massively overrated in this because I think he's pretty terrible at freekicks, Bale is way way better). What other categories are there? Both don't really do many defensive duties. Ronaldo might be a bit faster off the ball but certainly not on the ball. But like you said, most people only care about goals.

Edit: After Preston wasted a couple of great chances to make it two, Manchester equalizes in the 66th. Edit 2: 1:1 Herrera And 1:2, dunno how my stream is acting up 1:2 Fellaini 1:3 penalty by Rooney, Preston will not be happy about the ref this game. Penalty call, 1:3 Rooney Full time, 1:3. I was sidetracked a lot and if I wasn't my stream was, but that did not look impressive at all.
