BTW the Perez comment was also a cheapshot. No self respective fan would try to defend that they dont like Perez.
Next time when you disagree, just disagree dont leave trailing comments that dont add value and just let you feel like your dick is bigger because you dont actually have a valid argumentm k?

Well some teams like Dortmund spent half a year losing to scrubs.
Also i believe the praise is mostly because they are playing really really well against said scrubs. Oh and also you know teams like Atleti, you know that team that sent Penaldo Madrid to the doghouse the other day.
Not so sure about trebles and stuff but the Copa should be a win barring any surprises and City should be a good workout but at this level not much of an issue unless you have some sort of crazy game by City individuals,
At a team level there is no comparison right now between the two.
Oh Barca will definitely crush City, of that I am sure.
But Bayern, Real, Chelsea are teams that actually have a working defence. And season is long, it's just that it's mostly Barca TL fans who keep overestimating their team. You don't see Pande acting like Chelsea is the "nonplus ultra" just because they are dominating PL...
Uhh actually yeah you do see him do it. And the rest of his band of merry blues. The only diff is you;ve got Mou jizz on whatever glasses your sporting so it might be harder to notice.
Thats what fans do. Nothing wrong with it. Dont like it, call it out. But dont pretend other people dont do it.
Yes Real's working defense gave Atleti their biggest Liga win of the season and yeah I mean in terms of goals scored and conceded not just the importance.
Oh, come on... Real Madrid's defense that match was Nacho, Varane and Coentrao and Khedira in the DM position. Barca fanboys sometimes...
Yes it was a cheapshot. But also whine much ? Those players arent in the team to make up numbers. Ohhh wait thats right.. they are ! Mucho Galactico ?
And lets get "Real" it wasnt just their D that got dominated. They got fuckin owned by the team with arguably the sleaziest playstyle of all the current top clubs across all leagues. You made them look like offensive Gods.
It was embarrrrasssingggly pathetic dont make excuses please.
Either present a valid argument and not "lolz injuries, barca fanboys noobs"
You build a squad for a reason. No one gives sayyyyy Arsenal any leeway over their injury issues. Why should you get a pass ?
Perez fanboys really...
Its Atletico de Madrid vs a defense that has yet to play together a single game, let alone one against one of the best teams in Spain
Im not a fan of either club, take that as you will
Ill take that as aaaaa..... you dont know what your talking about then. Considering said team just showed the attacking strenght of a broken toothpick against Celta Vigo barely a few hours ago.
On a more serious note though. I was just really trying to knock Sharkie but the dude got all super defensive so I figured I'd blow off some steam. Also I think the worst kind of discussion tools i "chelsea fan gays, or Barca fanboys" so I had to let him feel it a bit.
Real is still probably higher on a power rank tier than other teams for me. Thats just the reality of it. Having a bogey team in Atleti doesnt change that.
Still when people make lineup excuses that is a terrible argument to justify performance because your squad not your first 11 is an accurate reflection of how strong a team you are in this day and age of a teams challenging a bajillion fronts.
If you guys have nothing better to say than "you're a stupid fan-boy" just shut the fuck up, please. If you don't want to have a discussion, just go troll somewhere else. This is where I come to discus football without running into memes and constant jokes, so let's try to do that. We all love football, so there's some common ground, even if you support rivals. For fuck's sake.

Ok I will disagre, becuase this just got ridiculous. You are comparing the Madrid's derby with random game against Celta Vigo ? Then you don't know what you are talking about.
Still when people make lineup excuses that is a terrible argument to justify performance because your squad not your first 11 is an accurate reflection of how strong a team you are in this day and age of a teams challenging a bajillion fronts.
I call bulshit on that. There is no team that can play good with half of it's starting line-up injured. It just doesn't exist. The substitutes are "substitutes" for a reason - they are not as good as the starting players. Also when we are talking about defense, you should know that building a good defensive unit takes time and practice. You can't just put 3 new players that never played together in a real match and expect them to be good.

You are taking yourself too seriously
I don't think anyone said that a team's backup players should be "as good" as their starters. When that team is Real Madrid however, their bench is worth more than the starting 11 for many teams (most). That defense you just spoke of, individually, is solid. The lack of organization at the back should be attributed to not training for a situation in which they could all be on the field at once. Or, which is more likely, they just had a very bad game.
Individually, I think Real's second best team they can put out should be extremely capable.
Real performed poor long before the injuries tho, not a single good game since late november. During the period when Real looked unbeatable they were playing with a completely different formation, then they do now.
When bale was injured they played in a 4-4-2 with 4 creative midfielders, after modric got injured and bale recovered they went back to the 4-3-3 that just doesnt seem to work, because too many players play out of position. Kroos playing cdm, isco playing way too far from the goal, james is just useless in the midfield and bale cant even score empty nets anymore. And Cristiano is just awful,he scored like 2 goals in the last 2 months.
Ancelotti completely refused to rotate the team, so now players show signs of fatigue and its only february. Also the subtitute players like illaramendi and nacho have no relevant game time, and now they suddenly have to start in games when the hardest part of the season begins.
Even if we had all of our players in our defence last week, maybe its not 4-0 but 1-0 or 2-0. Atletico just completely outplayed Real, in every possible way.
Barca is playing great futball right now, but i cant help but feel, they dont have any solid plans in their offense, its just the quality and form of their players that carries them. They are much more reliant on Messi then any other player, if he starts making himself invisible on the pitch again, we may see the barca from this fall again.
The season is long, it could go either way, but i dont think Atletico will be there at the end this year, they have a better shot at the CL i think.

That's exactly what I think about Real Madrid this season. The team is less balanced than the last year's. Selling Xabi Alonso - without finding his replacement - and Di Maria was a big mistake. On the bright side, Bale showed some good signs against Deportivo and Modric will recover soon, so maybe Ancelotti will find the right formula again. At least I hope so.
On February 16 2015 09:39 Faruko wrote: Selling Di Maria and Alonso to fund James (which is very good, but not exactly what Real was missing...) was a stupid move by Florentino
he sold the engine of the team
Well Di Maria was great in the midfield because he just wouldnt stop chasing the ball, he was constantly moving, and in offense he could break any defense. But then he would make a stupid pass or take a silly shot. Last few months at real he played at a world class level, but by no means was he irreplaceable. A guy like pogba would have been an overall improvement even, but james is just awful in that position, he is more of a shadow striker, then a midfielder, and he tries really hard to make it work, but he is just too slow for that position. When he played closer to the goal, he always had assists or scored goals, thats what he is good at.
They planned for Kroos to replace alonso, but kroos is not a cdm, he never was. With the james kroos modric isco midfield they made it work because everyone was taking their part in defending and they put the pressure on the enemy team with a midfield that had an insane pass accuracy. Now when real loses a ball, it feels like its an instant chance for the enemy team regardless the quality of the defense.
Besides Ronaldo, is between the always underrated Benzema and Kroos for who is the best RM player of the season, but yes, he is not CDM
They lack a CDM AND Di Maria wasnt only helping on the offensivem his work rate (same as Alexis) was all about putting pressure and even recovering a few balls on the offensive, he was always putting pressure which relieve Alonso of some pressure
the way he moved around the field was always putting at least some pressure
I really can't wait for the Champions League to come back. It's getting kind of boring to watch non-Chelsea PL teams fail left and right and comparing how many goals RM/Ronaldo score vs Barcelona/Messi against the Levantes and Eibars of La Liga.

Haha <3 Oh thats a point i'll bump up that thread with this weeks champs and europa league games. Just got shit load of work to get through but it will be up soon!
That's a great video. The amount of chances he creates is mindblowing. All his passes are inch perfect as well. Ridiculous. Like anomalopidae mentioned; if Barça were more clinical this season he would've had 25 assists along with his goals.

As if the Ronaldo vs Messi debate would suddenly end just because a few teams all over the continent start playing again : )
TBH for me the PL hype has been dying lately, the general play is meh and there's not much competition against Chelsea. Still much more fun than La Liga tho.
Barça stomping all over the play and watching Neymar become godlike has been great :D
Im so bored about the Ronaldo v Messi debate, why not enjoy both of them ? be grateful that you were alive to see them both, i will be telling stories to my kids of both players
neither is remarkably better than the other one and why should you care
