What better way to reward a small team for holding out at home than to give them a lucrative away day? Replays are part of what makes the cup so special.

That's a really narrow minded opinion and I'm sure you could have found a less insulting way of expressing it too. Going straight to extra time and penalties wouldn't be any more entertaining and as Jockmcplop pointed out the financial rewards for some of these little clubs is huge. It's a really big deal for them.

Gabriel Paulista to Arsenal is confirmed, pending a work permit. I'm so excited. We actually addressed a glaring hole in the squad, in January, and he's actually someone who can compete for first team minutes. He's not some 16 year old with potential.

+ Show Spoiler + Can I just say I hope some Italian Clubs decide to tour the US during the Summer break, they might find a ton of fans and new support. Real big news here that Serie A has shown such respect towards our official league while the garbage that the EPL spews towards us along with it's managers showing lack of respect every year they come here.

You'd probably go crazy if Arsenal also signs Illaramendi ![]()

I think the fact that he's playing every match for a Europa League club that's fighting for CL qualification in La Liga makes for a pretty good argument too. It'd be rather alarming if he had played for Spain, considering he's Brazilian. I wonder if he has any third party ownership issues? Villarreal can be a nightmare to deal with in that respect. They use third party ownership to sign players from South America whom they otherwise couldn't afford.

Didn't stop Diego Costa ![]() If he does have a third party owner, I think Arsenal would have to buy out his rights, since AFAIK third party ownership isn't allowed in the PL.

Holy shit, I hope we get Paulista. Not being able to rotate an out of form CB for a capable replacement (even though Monreal did rather well) is an absolute joke. And Olivier G owning Brighton again would be nice.
