Well, what happened with Monaco was that their owner, Dmitry Moneybagskev, got divorced and lost interest in the club. Instead of Falcao their reference up front is now Berbatov, and their substitute for James seems to be a 20yo Benfica loanee, Bernardo Silva - of whom you'll hear often about in the future but is not yet at the level of James. After a poor start they seem to be improving. Moutinho and B Silva are also the shortest midfield duo ever in the history of football.

A draw would be more fair, but we got a penalty and used our one great chance. We're locking down Silva really well so far, which is key.

Very happy with the game so far. Shaky initial minutes, but pretty stable since. Midfield got tired and sloppy towards the end, which caused a fair bit of worry. Sanchez having a rare bad game with poor decisions. Giroud could fall a bit deeper and shove Fernando-dinho around a bit. Hoping Sanchez and Ox run a lot at Demichelis and Kompany (on a yellow) to force some fouls on the counter.

City going 4-4-2 could be the start of a very entertaining half. Jovetic coming on would pose a lot of problems.

Who should go off for Walcott then? Ox and Alexis have enormous engines, Cazorla directs play, and Giroud needs to hold up and waste time.
