Think that is due to him not playing though and the world being linked with him. Like Steveling said, Spanish goalkeeper looking good being signed by one of the best spanish teams in the world just ticks all the boxes. Pretty sure he wouldn't mind it either.
Cech of course could be there other choice or end up there but i just think De Gea would be their no 1 choice. Cech i don't even think will go in January and will wait until the summer before he leaves. Unless Chelsea get big money offer for him, there is no reason for us to be forced into it otherwise.

Bundesliga: Wolfsburg signing Zhang Xizhe gains 50 million TV audience in China
A whopping 50 million viewers were expected to watch prime-time Chinese television when China star Zhang Xizhe gave his first press conference for new club Wolfsburg in Germany.
Theres a lot to consider, for once, he is fine in Manchester, he is an idol pertty much nowadays, if he goes to Real Madrid, not only he has to start from the bottom, he has to fight his Atletico de Madrid past (the other mortal enemy of Real Madrid)
Its a great challenge and an upgrade nonetheles, but theres a lot to lose for him too.

Asked if De Gea was going to stay at United next year next he replied something along the lines of 'you don't need to know that. I don't need to know what you are doing next year' the media guy replied 'I can tell you what I am doing next year if you want' and Van Gaal said 'I don't care what you are doing'
If someone can find that interview its class. I've probably not remembered it quite right or done it justice.
In the Netherlands they're showing his every press conference on tv and he's a running gag because his English is absolutely dreadful. He also uses a lot of Dutch sayings or literally translating Dutch words that mean something totally different in context.
Like when some journalist asked about de Gea's contract situation he also said: "That's between the club and the player, point".
Saying 'point' or 'punt' at the end of a sentence in Dutch means that there's no more discussion to be had, like the sentence before it ends the entire discussion about the subject. It's a strict way of saying: we're not talking about it any longer. Obviously in English it doesn't make any sense :D
Other one that I can remember is when he was talking about an upcoming match against Chelsea: "but that's another cook.. or ehhrr biscuit". Dutch saying "dat is andere koek" (that's another cookie) which means it's more difficult.
FYI we do actually have that saying, only you say period not point .
i.e: De Gea is the best keeper in the league. Period.
Oh haha, of course. And I knew that too :D. Just didn't pop into my head when writing that.

Norwegian media been reported he was "going" to Liverpool so that is interesting. Was out of Liverpool or Real Madrid.
he was visiting like 8 different clubs? most big ones, liverpool being the smallest he visited but it was the team he supported during his childhood (I guess still) so it made sense.
He's still going to visit Ajax around 15 January iirc.
Ajax by far the best place for him. In a league where contact is not of the strength of Bundesliga nor England. Develop there for 3-4 years would be prime for him. Also would get play time too

Indeed, Ajax is where he's got the most chance to shine and then to be sold to Bayern/Real/PSG :p
If I were a talented young footballer Ajax is THE club I'd want to be. As Pande said I'd get time to develop AND get opportunities to play first league football PLUS Champions league football.

Well, he wouldn't be the first to choose bigger clubs above ajax. Only this year 3 talents have chosen to go from ajax to man united, city and real.
Liverpool have a greed a £3m deal to sign Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, according to The Daily Express. Reports suggest Ochoa, who was one of the starts of the World Cup, will join from Malaga in January as Brendan Rodgers looks for an alternative option to Simon Mignolet and Brad Jones.
Funny thing that Kameni played instead of Ochoa in Malaga this season. Ochoa had so much hype after WC. But I guess that at club level he wasn't so awesome last year.

Rodgers finally realized how shit Mignolet is.
Pretty good deal for Malaga. They just signed him for free in the summer, now they'll get a few million for him six months later lol

Yeah, the WC hype is a funny thing. The guy got hit by the ball a couple of times, made some good saves and all of a sudden is hyped as a great GK. I'm pretty sure that there is a reason why he was free agent and didn't manage to beat Kameni for the 1st place in Malaga.

You know why he left right?
Rijkaard put him on bench because he wasnt able to communicate with other players. Nothing was wrong with his gameplay. He was easily top 3 GK in these times.
