Dude gets robbed of a great WC experience and will now probably miss significant time for Dortmund. Seriously, this can't just be a coincidence. Dortmund has easily suffered the worst injury crisis in any professional sports team I've ever seen since the start of last season. What the fuck is going on?

I am really against all sorts of gossip and shit like this but this one could actually be true since it was really sudden that he left.

Our team plays a lot better without him...the problem yesterday was that we played like if he was there and treated Nani like the new Ronaldo. Clearly the wrong move. We can play poorly with him (giving every ball to Ronaldo with players being scared of being kicked of the team if their first decision is not to look for Ronaldo and pass him the ball) but at least by having 99% of our team's ball he usually produces one or 2 chances a game and we go by that way. Doing the same shit with Nani is clearly not the same...I like Nani but he is not in that great shape anymore, and even then, this would be ludicrous. It was well deserved. When we try to play as a proper team we actually do better (hence a few years ago the notion that we would win more games without Ronaldo than with him on the pitch...we have/had good players but giving him every ball makes the job very easy for the opposition or, in this case, giving every ball to Nani makes even Albania look like a team who can defend very well).

Midfield 3 of Gomes - Carvalho - Moutinho is actually the best midfield 3 i seen from Portugal in a while. It's just again the striker is a pile of shite, Pepe needs replacing too and then you have a decent team. Reason why Ronaldo cannot play the way you think is because he is played LW or whatever and that position is needed to track back. Why like Brazil, don't play Ronaldo as striker (Or in Brazil case Hulk striker) is beyond me. Then you can actually have more midfielders who track back into the team. Portugal seems to be an easy fix in their national team from the outside, but like 3 managers in a row have failed pretty hardcore with them. Maybe they are just giving up until Mourinho becomes available in 8-10 years time? Even then i think he will choose to manage England over Portugal ![]()

But yeah need to fix things asap in the striker department if that is the case xD Nope he has publicly stated that he does not want to play as a striker. Our manager tried that once, he talked to the press and after that something like "well after talking to Ronaldo and based on our own evaluations we rather have him play in his natural position on the wings" (yeah right). Like someone said, our u21 team is good and if some of them grow into their potential maybe in a few years we can have a proper team.
