This kinda makes me sad. A good talented young local lad being sold so that RVP and rooney can stay in the squad a couple of years and then be to old. Really short sighted by LVG if true. I guess he bought into the mob culture of "Welbecks shit" just because hes been played out of position for most of his career, completely ignoring his quite brilliant stats when he plays in a strikers role instead of shoved onto the wings. We should be offloading Hernandez instead, a one trick pony that occasionaly scores off the bench but can't contribute to a full 90 minute game if his life depended on it. Oh well. /rant
Ballotelli for less than 20million is dam good business by rodgers, they needed a striker to fill saurez's boots and who better, if saurez is king of controversy then surely Ladolettli is prince, and like Suarez, hes a fucking good striker. He's at an age when he could start to grow up too, especially under Rodger's guidance. These last two season seem like a fan fictional novel written by liverpool fans at the moment, we are sucking and flirting with a potential vicious cycle, and they are on the up. This coupled with the rise of man city makes for a pretty horrible few years for us united fans. At least we have LVG....

I geuss Welbeck out, means Di Maria in and a move away from 352.
Seems Hernandez is also on the way out, which makes that scenario even more likely.

Putting aside the fact that he's terrible and not worth whatever the asking price is, there is no relationship between the two clubs. After the Berbatov and Fryers sagas, I wouldn't expect any business between Utd and Tottenham for quite a while.

Mario Baloteli's move to Liverpool is edging ever closer, as the AC Milan striker has now arrived at their Melwood training ground. He has flown in from Italy this afternoon to tie up a transfer and now just has to hold final talks and undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on one of the deals of the summer. pretty much done deal.

He arrived to Liverpool around 1 hour ago so it should be official soon today or tomorrow morning.

I keep seeing all these stories about "behavior clauses" in the contract - he gets fined if he does something dumb. Is that something that is abnormal? Or just making a big deal out of it because it's Balotelli?
I know in American Football, teams and the league can pretty much discretionarily fine players for bad conduct on or off the field.
I guess to me it just stinks of sour grapes and the Italian media trying to make Balo look like the villain again. Especially considering all these dingleberries like Christian Vieri saying this is somehow a good piece of business for Milan. I'll believe that when they qualify for CL...

lol bayern, 3-3-3-1 tactic vs wolfsburg...

I think Welbeck is a good striker but he's a bit wasted on the wings. Seems odd to me that LvG will let him leave though if he's going to play 3-5-2. United looked far more dangerous with Welbeck next to Rooney in pre-season. I think a trio of Mata, Robin van Persie and Rooney is an absolute disaster. There is simply no pace or trickery in that front line. They would be good for a possession team like Barcelona but the rest of the team can't do that at all. United's decisions just make no sense to me.

he improved a lot last season but I don't think he's very good, not clinical at all, not a natural finisher.

I really can't see how Milan can spin this to pretend its a good deal for them. They valued Balotelli at 30 million pounds in the beginning of the transfer window and sold him for 16. Furthermore, I don't remember any major bust ups with Balotelli at Milan either? I think Milan are just desperate to get any expensive players off their books. Very poor leadership there the past number of years.
I've always liked Balotelli personally. He's crazy of course but mostly of the comedy type rather then the tragedy type. I don't know if he'll fit at Liverpool but I don't think it's impossible. Could end up really well for Liverpool.

He scored 6 goals in 6 games as striker last season I think? He's really good up front and I think he'd do well if he got a good run of games. It might be best for him to leave United in that sense. Besides that though, if you are playing with 2 strikers then I think Welbeck with Rooney/RvP is far more balanced then both Rooney and RvP.

Holger Badstuber is back on the pitch for Bayern!
And Bayern started 17 year old Gianluca Gaudino.

Might be because there was a legal struggle when Man City tried to fine him wages for his behaviour, and now it's being written into the contract so that L'Pool can be sure they can do it.
Also implications are that the clauses would "exceed standard practice". http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/21/mario-balotelli-liverpool-behaviour-clauses-milan-brendan-rodgers

can't really tell, there were a million games last season where no one did anything up front.
