Even if he only had 6 months on the contract, competition to buy him should have driven prices up. Except Garay is not head and shoulders above anyone of those. That should help you understand better. He is a great player, was one of the best centre backs in our league and was one of Benfica's best players. But it stops there....being head and shoulders above Mangala (or even Rojo for that matter) is just bullshit. EDIT: Besides he had 1year left on his contract not 6months. 6months until teams are allowed to start contract talks for a free transfer in June/July 2015 when his contract actually ended. It did not end in January. EDIT 2: About Clasie, newspapers are now claiming the club asked for €3M more for the transfer and things got a little colder. Understandable from both sides. Porto don't feel he's worth that much more and honestly Feyenoord can't sell him for anything less because without Clasie Immers is our captain IMMERS. Pathetic really ![]()

He can also play LB, so its good idea to put him left side as CB on 3-5-2. Manchester United still needs world class winger, midfielder and RB? (idk Rafael's situation) How will they do that? With 2-3 world class siginigs they are unlikely to meet FFP requirements even if they qualify to CL. I think they can still use like 80-90 million pounds. Manchester United's revenue is the biggest along with RM.

On top of that their defence will have at least one of Jones, Smalling or Evans, and thats closer to Chmapionship than Champions League level.

Bit unfair saying last 3 years, seeing as real Madrid have only just started to spend big after the 2010/2009 fallout when they bought: Kaka £56,000,000 Cristiano Ronaldo £80,000,000 Karim Benzema £25,000,000 Alvaro Arbeloa £3,500,000 Xabi Alonso £30,000,000 Angel Di Maria £30,000,000 and then went quiet for a bit. That's 280 MILLION euros for the Europeans, in one season!.

For sure he is better than Smalling and Evans, he is still quite young so he can develop to be good enough for a team that wants to challenge Premier League and Champions League, but imo he is still a quite far from that.

Barcelona are appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after FIFA upheld their transfer embargo until January 2016 Source Thomas Muller admits to turning down "big" offers in the Summer for his services The amount that foreign clubs were offering me was astronomical. But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me. Ajax have pulled ahead of Liverpool in the betting on the next club of Samuel Eto'o, with the Dutch giants now rated 11/4 favourites, pushing Liverpool back out to 3/1. Everton, QPR and Tottenham are all given a 6/1 chance.

After extending the deadline where he would give his answer for like 3-4 times, Marc Overmars has given the management of Eto'o a deadline until 18:00 this afternoon to decide. It's now 18:40. Considering there's no news out yet, I doubt it's going to happen. They're just cracking down on them for technicalities. Just some smuck in UEFA who wants to make a career move. I don't find La Masia shady at all.
