Marcos Rojo confirms Manchester United transfer after Sporting Lisbon accept £15.9million plus Nani bid
This is what i get as latest news. Pretty good business by Sporting Rojo was good offensively but not so good defensively from what i saw at the world cup.

Rojo played all season as a CB at Sporting he is awesome defensively there. Anyway is that confirmed ? Portuguese press (mostly hate sporting) is refusing to comment on it yesterday they were even saying Nani didn't want to come back lol

Hmm interesting, intrigued to see what he can do now then if he is being bought in as a CB.

I'm having a really hard time understanding how Rojo is worth 20M+Nani, Mangala is worth 40M and Garay, who is head and shoulders above both, is worth... 6M. Even if he only had 6 months on the contract, competition to buy him should have driven prices up.

With only 6 months left on a contract you can already sign an agreement with a player to join your club on a free transfer. I think Benfica needed the money too much to drive the prices up because most teams are patient enough to wait for the free transfer.

Except Garay is not head and shoulders above anyone of those. That should help you understand better.
He is a great player, was one of the best centre backs in our league and was one of Benfica's best players. But it stops there....being head and shoulders above Mangala (or even Rojo for that matter) is just bullshit.
EDIT: Besides he had 1year left on his contract not 6months. 6months until teams are allowed to start contract talks for a free transfer in June/July 2015 when his contract actually ended. It did not end in January.
EDIT 2: About Clasie, newspapers are now claiming the club asked for €3M more for the transfer and things got a little colder.

What a donkey Ramsey is haha. Could be a really costly red if Arsenal concede now.
|
not to mention you got to pay people money to take nani away from you!

Real Madrid XI: Casillas, Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Kroos, Modric, Alonso, Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema
Atletico Madrid XI: Moya, JuanFran, Godin, Miranda, Siqueira, Gabi, Saul, Koke, Mario Suarez, Cristian Rodriguez, Mandzukic

Yes, I'm obviously biased about Garay, but he was phenomenal in the last couple of years. Plus he played every game for Argentina while Mangala was the 4th option for France and it seemed to me that this year he underperformed last year for Porto compared to the hype that was being built around him in previous years.
So what happens to celebrities when Aaron Ramsey gets a red card?

Besiktas were the better team, too bad they didn't score, that would have made things interesting.

I can agree with that. Mangala underperformed last year due to Porto's team being rubish.
Yet....Garay is worth much more than 6M lol....at least 25 (probably not more than 30M due to his age). LFV would have a lot to explain if I were in charge.....
