Yeah, he is def not going to be a monster (maybe never really was? =P ), but he is more skilled than people in the East coast remember I think. For the Bulls to be better though he doesn't have to be a prime Gasol, he just has to be better than Boozer.
Even if Gasol doesn't pan out in the best way for them (defensively/health would be the biggest questions going in probably), they are also counting on the perimeter players improving for them from last year, among them the addition of Rose. But the East is so weak, even if they kind of suck for what we expect, they aren't lower than a top 3 in the conference at this point, right? And once the playoffs come, the Bulls defense will give them a good chance vs most teams, even with Gibson in for Gasol.
The Bulls just seem like their worse can't be that bad, and their best still has some upside, possibly even finals-series worthy. When looking at the teams in the East and judging them on past season's success, continuity of their roster, and player/coach talent, they are at the top. The other top teams are the Cavs since they have Lebron. And the Heat will not be that bad, but they just lost their best player. The Pacers lost their top 2 offensive players..and they all have to work out their new roster kinks.
BTW, If GM Lebron is smart he'll also bring in an assistant (or 2) coach from the Heat with him to Cleveland right? He already has Dion Waiters looking at film of how D.Wade played off-the-ball with him in Miami (source: windhorst).
In a way, I think Lebron announcing his return to Cleveland compromised the Cavs holding on to Wiggins. Or at least in having to give this good of a deal to the Wolves. MIN fans shouldn't be unhappy with the trade.

I mean he was never on the letter. I would have known I was gone if I was Wiggins. GM Lebron has spoken.
And Lebatard suspended for billboard?? C'mon. So dumb.

He should be suspended for thinking he's funny.

How much does KD withdrawing from the World Cup have to do with this whole UnderArmour deal and the predominant Nike presence surrounding Team USA basketball...
|
wondering if the love trade makes people dislike lebron again
|
Well this makes them a contender (at least in the East) but not a prohibitive favorite like the last 3 years.

probably 0%. its probably a combo of the event itself (its not the olympics, which US players care the most about internationally), maybe PG freak injury, and maybe he wanted rest.
nike will ALWAYS have basketball as their sport, i dont think anyone will ever take it away from them. so its kinda pointless to withdraw just cause nike owns everyone in basketball.

I think its kinda lame that he is like the only major media guy who is calling Lebron out for his most recent round of BS.

I actually think him being suspended is what makes it funny...don't agree with it but I can see where they're coming from. Just so harmless though.

What BS is that?
|
its not really bs but sometimes it's nice to go against or at least poke fun of the dominant narratives sportswriters pull out of their asses. Deadspin is supposed to do it but the people who run it are equally retarded.
|
I would say the #1 BS Lebron narrative is that he is the "new" Cleveland GM and how most sportswriters are treating this as either a funny amusement, or worse (and also a small amount, i dont want to overplay this super dumb opinion) that this is somehow a good thing.
These same writers seem to forget that Lebron was the architect of the disaster that was the team that went to the lottery in 4 straight seasons without him.
Also there are the wrong, but not totally BS, narratives that Lebron is both "mature" and a "brilliant businessman".

Well those are dumb sportswriters, not Lebron.

Well, yes and no. One of the only sourced things is that Lebron's "crew" didn't mesh with Riley because he wouldnt just let them do what they wanted. The reality is, right now its hard to tell where Lebron's cock ends and ESPN/SI/FOX reporters begin because of their overwhelming rush to get on that and the "new" narrative. When Brain Windhorst is one of the most "critical" people of his moves, you know there is a problem.

The east will probably be worse than last year. Nets and Pacers are done. Chicago's the only real hope and they're reliant on Rose's knees and Thibs not running the team into the ground during the regular season.

Thibs is not a dumbass,he knows he has a team that really depends on a couple of key players not getting injured, are you seriously sugesting he's going to ignore common sense and add to the chance of rose fucking himself up again. he's hard on the players because he doesnt tolerate bullshit tanking, bulls could have easily tanked last year but due to thibs and noah having actual pride they went to the playoffs.good on them
