With that level of consistency I'd much rather have Mrazek out there, hes cheaper and hes 22 so when he fucks up its understandable.

Pick the wrong tail to chase though and you get shot in the back of the head. I worked at that casino and was maybe 80 feet away from where the guy got shot. Never heard it. That was a crazy night.

Why can't the Oilers play every game as if they were playing Chicago. They are never out of it, never look out classed and the games are usually close!

They took 47 shots and allowed 39! Wish I watched the whole game. That's usually indicative of a very back and forth game

They really could still be in the picture to make it in for the east, as they are only 5 points behind an extremely shaky Bruins team that despite a good weekend is still full of holes and looking nowhere near their last season after winning the Presidents. I don't trust Florida is a serious contender for the spot no matter how close they are due to the fact that they just don't have anything of a winning culture there. I expect them to come up short.

In the other conference the sparring match between Calgary and LA feels like there's no way LA can lose but that seems how Calgary has gotten themselves into this situation, by winning when you don't expect them to. Besides the surging Ottawa team they lost to yesterday all their losses in the last 10 were to very quality teams, and they managed to beat just as many good teams in the process.

Edit: Oh and losing Byfuglien for four weeks is a huge hit to the Jets, who knows LA could take their spot if there's a drop off in their performances with a key player out.

Rangers have been on a great tear too even without Hank. Chicago last night, big wins over Nashville and the Isles in the past few weeks. I think they and maybe tampa are the two best teams in the east. The Rangers just have crazy depth across the board this year. The isles are right up there too, but I think the Rangers are a little better suited for playoffs. Hank can steal series, Halak at this point is good but more like someone who won't really cost you but won't go bonkers these days anymore. Montreal will have to 2-1 their way to the finals if they want a prayer. Price is stupid good this year, but I really don't care for their play overall besides him. They're no where near as balanced as those other teams.

The wings have also quietly been good all season. I don't think they have the depth that these other teams have, but their old plugs are still all going, and they final have a real youth movement coming along.

I just think the east playoffs are going to be real fun this year. There's a few good teams up in the higher seeds, and even some of the lower seeded teams can steal a series or at least be fun to watch.

talbot always had good rate stats, but more questionable about his consistency as the main guy.

rangers managed to defeat islanders again, this time overcoming tanner glass too.

Looks pretty comparable. The difference is you have Lundquist and the Wings have Jimmy Howard.
Trade goalies and you guys are in the Wild Card and the Wings have won the East.

Being able to run four lines is good depth, but if you have a stronger three lines I see that as better depth than an effective four lines. Slightly better first second third lines matter more in the long run. The fourth line is okay to just exist to give the guys some time to get their wind back.
