Love PK, sometimes watching him on the ice infuriates me when he makes a stupid play but I know he will eventually make up for it. Plus off the ice he is just an amazing person.

I am excited for the outdoor game. For a league that does a lot of dumb things, that really was a pretty brilliant innovation. I'm still mad I never went to the Rangers game, but those things were expensive.

I think Pittsburgh got robbed in this trade personally. Perron massively over achieved last season. And remember he played on the Blues, a top tier team and didn't do alot for them.
I have no idea who the guys EDM got is and I don't really care. Getting a first for Perron is a good haul on its on.

On the down side this is 100% a tanking move and maybe someone will make some noise about intentionally sucking...

Its definitely better than him walking after next year, or even being traded next year..

But that means that management now thinks that the team had no chance to make the playoffs for the next few years.. I guess doing something, despite the poor return, is better than continuing to watch the team implode.

Blues arent an offensive powerhouse, they are a bunch of 15-20 goal guys. Look at Hornquist or the original lucky sob -- Kunitz -- after Crosby starts bouncing pucks into the net of their foreheads. Just go hard to the net and Crosby will make you a 30 goal scorer out of you.

Because what they were doing before Peron was traded was accidental tanking? As long as Katz owns this team, it will tank.

Kinda surprised noone posted this. Malkin and Adams got into a fight during the morning skate. Adams took the worst of it by far

also that Perron trade was dumb. He's a good top 6 guy who can give you 50ish points. He's only 26 and makes 3.8$ this year and next. He's young enough to still be good if the team ever game around. Even if he wasn't, that's still worth more than a late first and a throw away player. If they waited until deadline they absolutely would have gotten more (and tbh, probably should have gone for a good prospect). Just dumb all around.

Last night Giroux got cut by a skate near his Achilles. It really looked like Erik Karlsson or Eric Wellwood's injury. One was season-ending and the latter career-ending. It was just terrifying seeing a player in such obvious distress. But apparently his Kevlar sock helped prevent a worse injury and he could play tonight. Wow.

There is no excuse for any player in the NHL, AHL, CHL or any league that pays to not wear kevlar socks. Skate to ankle cuts are career threatening. Those socks could save your career, thus making you millions more than if you didn't have them on.
