I watched a few Sharks games this year (I live in the Bay Area right now), and he was fun at some points. But he was kind of a dinosaur in others, believing that fighting and dump-and-chase are the way to go. I doubt that's why they let him go, but his views got pretty annoying real fast. The chemistry of the team was apparent, though.

They probably let him go because he was critical of the team (and rightly so) during the playoff collapse.
Yesterday was a really bad day for Sharks fans. Not only did the Remenda news came out, but it also came out that the Sharks are locked into a retarded TV deal for the next 14 years that will only pay them $7 million per year. It's so bad that Bettman is intervening and there's rumor of a possible relocation because of it.

Other stuff.
1. Red Wings have now bought out 2 players they signed in 2012, heck of a joe Kenny. But buying out a 1.9 m guy with 1 year on contract when you have a 5 million 5 year contract guy? Thats Ken Holland genius level nine dimension hockey thinking for the best GM in the universe.
2. Now that the Pens hired the failed GM of the Canes, he returns their trust in him by looking at the failed coach of the Canucks and the failed Coach of the Maple Leafs. Bra-fucking-vo.
|
Yeah I don't get that. Franzen is a decent enough player, but that contract is gonna really start to suck in the next two years or so
|
oh no, boyle didnt sign on the island. please please please holland dont sign him, i know he's your perfect player, elderly, but please just go take a nap.
|
someone's gonna give boyle 3yrs/$6m per and i'm gonna laugh
|
Boyle is clearly brain damaged. He has never been the same since he got run over early in the year.

Oilers Andrew Ference won the King Clancy Award for humanitarian and charity work.
Yay we won something!
|
Hey now, Oilers have won the lottery a lot!
|
They also won "most poorly managed franchise and worst draft picks in last 7 years".
Or maybe "worst team with most no. 1 draft picks"

Or maybe "worst team with most no. 1 draft picks" Yeah, they don't hand out awards for being terrible at running a hockey team otherwise we'd have our names scribbled on it 6 years straight.

Brad Richards finally gets bought out, but why now, why not a year ago Glenn?

good riddance
got paid like an elite 1C to be a mediocre 2C.
I am not sure that Brassard is really good enough to be a reliable 2C. He's a great third guy. But with the way the Rangers roll their lines, the 1-3rd are all interchangable almost. Basically, they need to get themselves a center who can be good for 50ish points and not break the bank. Hopefully on a shorter term so that there is space whenever Miller or Lindberg are ready

Yet Rick Nash is still on your payroll as well. >_<
