As an aside, longer term contracts being signed right now against the current cap are kind of scary when one considers that the cap is likely to drop a fair amount soon: NHL revenue is calculated in US dollars, naturally. 30% of NHL revenue comes from Canada, and the Canadian dollar is, errr, poor. And the Rogers deal that saw the expected revenues spike is also done in Canadian dollars. The value of that deal looks to be at least 25% less than originally expected over its term. Munniez are gonna be tight! Might be a tough time to be paying a 37 or 38 year old defenseman 6.75M. But yeah, the first couple years are a bargain.

He's a bit of a bargain for the first few years, afterwards likely a bit of an overpay. I'd say it's fair for all parties. I agree they'll be overpaying those latter years but it's not an overpayment to the degree that a team rich with superior American moneys couldn't take him on. Again, assuming he progresses downward and doesn't fall off a cliff of course. I think it makes sense for the Flames though. Overall it's a good and fair deal, definitely under today's market value by as much as like $2m. While the Flames were definitely a bit lucky last year, they do have a ton of good young players, and they added a bunch more this offseason. I think it's reasonable to think that they've got themselves a 3-4 year window and having gio helps even with that financial uncertainty overhead. That gif rules Also Al Arbour died ![]()

i've not but it has a very good reputation amongst other hockey dorks. ive wanted to the past two years, but each placed ive lived over the last two years has awful internet connection. I know the MLB crew is now taking over the Gamecenter production, but as far as I know there are still local blackouts if you're thinking of picking up to replace your cable for Oil games. Local is very loosely defined too.
