That video also shows how Lillard aligns his hips(not his toes) to the basket and brings the ball down into the pocket before getting into his shot, things most shooters swear they don't do and teach kids not do to, but continue to be staples of great shots anyways.
soo..i went to the driving range just to release some inner rage...ended up hitting a duck...just my luck...had to go retrieve it and call the rspca ==
feeling bit better now, i guess just few things i want to cap off the season: 1. still love this team and see a good future, although changes are definitely necessary, especially defense, bench and coaching 2. i think mchale's contract is up...not sure how dwight will feel given mchale was a big part of the recruitment pitch, but i certainly don't think mchale is the right coach. i'd be happy to give up a first rounder for thibs XD 3. i never, ever, want to play against LMA in the playoffs, the way the ref treated him was to the point of unfair. i know i'm just whinging him, but he got away with so much yet we couldn't breathe on him 4. lillard is a god. 5. i'm just glad that shot didn't come in game 7. that would have been worse
anyway, rooting for the spurs rest of the way. goodnight y'all
just to emphasise the fail, mchale said we played great D on the last play, parsons/bev/harden was still discussing switching while it was getting inbounded....93% of people on clutchfans wants mchale gone. T.T
It's ok Doraemon, you guys have an amazing roster. Losing this year might be a blessing in disguise because I don't think you guys could've played to your potential with McHale anyway.
The Spurs/Mavs series is so unpredictable. A different player goes off for Dallas every night and both teams sometimes decide to randomly break down on defense. Spurs definitely have the advantage because Dallas seems to always concedes the easy mismatch for Parker/Duncan/Splitter in favor of guarding the 3 point shots. The Mavs are praying it doesn't come back to bite them; the Spurs are praying Dirk doesn't continue hitting his mid range shot because then the whole Mav's offense opens up if he starts hitting that shot off the pick and pop.

Which isn't REALLY true.
Lakers won a series vs the Thunder in '10 off a Gasol tip in off a Kobe Bryant miss in game 6. It wasn't quite the same level of spectacle as Lillard's was but it still counts.

that isnt a buzzer beater. did you hear any buzzes?
With 0.5 remaining it comes about as close as possible. I guess ESPN doesn't count those but for all intents and purposes as far as i'm concerned they are the same thing.
Another example:
Again, not anywhere near the spectacle as Damien Lillard's but the impact is just as big.

.5 is enough time to catch and shoot. Lillard's shot was in the air with .4 on the clock on a .9 second inbound. You can say 'it's kind of the same thing' all you want, but then you see teams lose with sub 1 second on the clock and realize wait no, it's not the same at all.
Basically think of it this way. Chandler Parson's put his shot in with what, 1.5 left? Had Houston won this game you'd have called it the same class of shot as Lillard's, except Lillard's leaves no room for Lillard's shot. That's the difference. The only thing left to do is a quick video replay as a formality.

exactly. like the other poster said, parsons couldve had one of those game winning shots. now i know in my last post i was being a dick, but buzzer beaters are called buzzer beaters for a reason, as after those shots there was still enough time to get a shot off, as any laker fan would know.

Wasn't that against the Rockets?
Sure was. And it wasn't just the 3. He scored 11 in the last 2 minutes to send the Jazz to the finals. Stock was incredibly clutch. He sucked in 98 because he was coming back from injury, but he was the Jazz' best player by far in 97.
