i'm really bored here.
DOn Cherry and Doug Maclean don't know what they are talking about.
Random TL.Net posters are the place to go for the ultimate word on what is "good hockey".

can you guys wake me up and let me know who won.

You know what? I don't even care if the US wins now. I'm just happy for an exciting gold medal game.

I really don't understand why anyone takes figure skating seriously as an Olympic sport.

Between it's very questionable consideration as a "sport" and its undeniable corruption and subjectivity, I can't stop myself from laughing at all of this.

Its been a subjective thing for years already, everyone who follows Olympics at least since Nagano knows how questionable the medal distribution is.

This by NO MEANS neglects the fact that these skaters are amazingly good and talented.

Of course they're talented, but I just can't take this seriously when the commentators try to pass of the "sport" aspect of it. It's ballroom on ice. It's an art. It's not a sport. And for God's sake it's so subjective that it's hard to handle.

Dancing is not a sport for you?

How do you define sports then?

I have extensive experience with both ballroom and swing dancing, to the point where I was a professional swing dancer for a time. No, it is not a sport, it's an art, and this argument of "art is not sport?" is old, tiresome, and really doesn't need to be re-hashed. Just Google the common points if you've never had it.

Are you going to Frankie100 then man?

No, I can't afford it/have to work.

When has "playing not to lose" ever worked in the history of sports? The U.S. was on their heels running scared just trying to hold on to their lead. No wonder they gave up that goal. So many mistakes in that one play alone.

I feel like Canada has outplayed the States for most of the game, they finally just got a couple of bounces. Can you imagine if that puck went into the open net after the check from the linesman?

edit: Is this like super exciting, or is it just because I have a rooting interest?

that would've even things up for the Crosby goal which i am getting really sick and tired of watching.

they show the replay just AFTER it kicks off the official.

every time i see that replay i wonder... how many people are wondering "how did he get the puck in such a great postion"

was it a pass from Wayne Gretzky?

It seems like the rules for the women are different compared to the men.

20 minute overtime, four on four.

Did they change it? Maybe I have bad memory, or never did pay attention, but I don't recall it being four on four.
That is TONS of room to play with.
