He could have a good jump, but it was known before that his stamina would be affected, so it was inevitable that he would lose distance in the cross country part. It would be stupid if he kept try to lead for as long as possible, as this would have made it much harder for the other germans to catch up. Anyway, that collision in the end was stupid. Luckily, the german team should be a guaranteed gold.
Also (I think I said it before) the nordic combined cross country course easily wins the competition for worst venue at this olympics (at the very least).

With Frenzel ill (which was painfully obvious, never saw such a bad run from him this year) Norway has a chance in the relay.

Apparently Fourcade was ill and had trouble breathing for today's Mass Start. I'm pondering how one can be so dominant on skis and have trouble breathing ...
He is uncertain for the relays, which would be a shame considering they would be top 3 contenders in both mixed and men with him.

Well, there's womens figureskating on thursday aswell, but different program. Dunno which one it is either. :p

Pretty sure that women's figure skating has two parts to it, so that would be the second part to the programme.
Wednesday 10 AM EST: Women's short program Thursday 10 AM EST: Women's free skating
gross 3000th post You better not miss this event now AsnSensation!

so many athletes have complaints about allergies
These Olympic games in Sochi are a disgrace to the history and name of the event... :/

That's because the Figure skating competition is divided into two distinct phases: Short program and the free skate (or long program). They are done on different days. Whoever gets the most total points from the two programs will be the winner and the Gold Medalist. In Vancouver, Kim Yuna broke the record for points under the current system with 228.56 total points (according to Wikipedia). I highly doubt she or anyone can break that record, but we'll see.
So in short, yes, ladies figure skating will be on both days.
