Upon my hatred of front squats, gonna do 3-5 sets after power cleans on tuesday, and do "half-jerks" as suggested by another hater friend followed by romanian deadlifts on wednesday.
I'm really looking foward to the half jerks and doing even less front squatting

I also do all the presses I know about, and also hate front squats with a passion
If you don't want to do the full oly lifts you can do snatch grip deadlifts (really hit the back and traps/lats) or snatch pulls and power cleans for a less technical version but still explosive lift.
I have a 160kg front squat, which is ok by most standards..
Fuuuuuuuck yeah. I am so ecstatic. Just broke my DL PR from two years ago. Also the first time I pulled > 2x BW. After I dropped that fifth rep it took all composure to not victory scream in excitement.
Also dipped +48.5kg for the first time which felt insanely heavy. First time I thought my legs were driving into my stomach after I put the belt on.
Finally did pistol squats +10kg 5-5-5 with my bad leg. What a great day.
GJ Zatic! I have some bad news: a molar in the back of my mouth has been hurting like a mofo for three years and the flesh around it is inflamed badly. Probably going to have to get it pulled on monday ASAP. Hope I still make the varsity boat :S
Celltech, it's so funny that you got into rowing. Crew is pretty big at my school and one of my friends is getting recruited by MIT and Harvard for crew. Another kid from my school was recruited for Harvard this same year, and another few kids have been recruited to schools like Columbia, UPenn, and Princeton. Wish I had gotten into crew
I've been experimenting with bench press/rows supersets, and they feel really good. It seems to really help recovery. I'm doing the same weight but feeling a lot less fatigued at the end of the sets.
pretty special session, went to religious event early, then had to wait like 1.5 hours to train because my crossfit gym was organizing a competition. Feels good to still pull trough with the deadlifts.

You can still row in your second year, you're 5'10-6ft right? Then you can be a great lightweight if you wanted to! I mostly wish I had my brain surgery 4-5 years ago, and picked up rowing then so that I'd be at a much higher level now. Just gonna work my ass of for 3 years and see how high I can climb.

I'm not in my second year, and I'm far shorter than that
Actually, I'm in my last year of high school at this point. Just finished up all of my early college applications. I'm also not built like a lightweight, unfortunately, lol. Crew practice takes up so much time anyway when you get to a competitive level, especially if you're an Ivy league rower. Those guys have brutal practice regiments.
