Rare to see Spurs choke like that although that Harden three was massive. So anyone agree here: Dwight's still a good player but he's not close to being a Superstar anymore. I'd much rather have M Gasol as my starting C at this stage. His offensive impact is fairly minimal these days compared to what he was with the Magic. He had the benefit of the doubt last year given his back injury but he's really part of the pack now as opposed to being the clear best centre in the game.

That actually makes them 2nd, above LAC, but the ranking had totals and OKC for some reason has played several games less so /o/ .

You're gonna get tons of fouls when you have Dwight+Harden on your team and your offensive gameplan has added emphasis on getting into the paint.

I've seen Kobe get injured quite a few times over his career and I've never seen the Lakers win% drop when he wasn't able to play. I honestly think Kobe is the most overrated player in the history of the NBA. I'm sure he will return, jack up 20+ shots a game, shoot a career low fg%, lakers will continue to lose half their games and then we will hear how it's not Kobe's fault, and how he has to take all these hero shots because everyone else on his team is useless. /rant You're entitled to that opinion. Me? I'm imagining every play we run with Kobe Bryant in place of Jodie Meeks and Meeks coming off the bench. In that situation trading player for player how could this team NOT just plain improve. Kobe gives us another low post and mid-range threat which forces defenses to adjust and gives more space for our shooters to operate, he gives us a go to guy in the starting line up that can create his own shot when currently all we have is Pau and Nick Young for that role. Kobe will be nothing but a positive for this team.

I am not one to defend Kobe but Jodie Meeks defense isn't the standard of the league.

He hasn't been that bad to be honest, his biggest liability has been his size as has been the weakness with the entirety of the Laker guard rotations. Bigger guards like Miller and Stucky can just abuse them in the paint. Which also makes our help defense on forwards that much weaker. Kobe at least has the size to handle some of the larger guard assignments and his perimeter defense although not that great as has been pointed out often in these forums is still not a downgrade from Meeks or if one at all nothing significant.

Don't really know until it happens though. Definitely have more faith in Kobe adjusting to what's there than I did in Carmelo.

Then, imo, the real test is how long/whether he learns his lesson and falls into his role on the team.
