So as a reminder for how terrible the Eastern Conference is right now.
The 3rd and 4th best teams in the East have a record of 9-8 and 7-7 respectively which is as good as 9th and 11th place in the West.
That's right. If the playoffs started today. The 3rd and 4th teams in the East wouldn't even make the playoffs in the West. The bottom 8 teams in the East are on a combined 32 game losing streak while the top 2 are on a combined 16 game win streak. The conference is a 2 team conference. It's pathetic.

The atlantic division is such lols. I can't believe Boston, who are meant to be tanking, are half a game off the 4th Seed in the East with their 7-11 record, behind the eye cancer offense and terrible coaching of Toronto at 6-9 New York 3-12, 8 game loss streak Brooklyn 4-12 Philly are meant to be tanking as well and are 6-11, far more impressive than the two teams that were meant to be winning the division.

Like, GS should probably rebound better and foul less if that is the case. OKC is not unlike every other team in the NBA that you are happy to give jump shots to.
West coast fans can bitch all they want, but 3 of the 4 best championship contenders were in the East before Rose got hurt. And, honestly, so far no one but the Spurs from the West even looks like they have a semblance of a chance of beating the Pacers or Heat.

Doubt it @ Bulls. Either way, West is 50-21 vs the East so far, solid.

that was a great interaction all around

Tony Parker leads the Spurs in minutes per game and he only plays 30.2 mpg, which ranks him #86 in the league. Spurs starters only play 2 quarters of basketball. Anyone else get the feeling that the Spurs play chess while everyone else plays checkers? At least in the regular season anyway.

Miami starting to drop minutes too. Only works if you've got a competent bench though.

Basically, I told you so. They got a bargain-priced super efficient 11ppg in like 15 mpg or something.

I still dont believe in Beasley but this is a major surprise. Nothing in his career showed he'd be able to flourish in limited minutes this well.

so beasley is apparently 6'10''...thats pretty fucking big and he's pretty fucking athletic to make me think he was nowhere close to that.

Totally winnable by GS.

I don't think I ever said it but I agreed with that sentiment also. The guy definitely has the skills to be the 4th/5th best player on a team if he sets his mind to it. And with him kind of being humbled at this point in his career, being highly motivated to succeed in a championship-ready team, and having no pressure on him, I only saw upside there at that price.

The New York teams beat everyone to the tanking race by signing a bunch of huge contract players who suck or are injured.
Pure genius.

He was very very good in college. Like, Melo and Durant level. He even has their size and style - oversized forward with good athleticism, hits shots. I think early on the college season, the debate between him and Rose was fairly serious.
Basketball's funny. A guy like that can succeed in limited minutes with a strong environment. Guys like Xavier Henry and Wesley Johnson are actually positive contributors to an record average team. Weird.

Wesley Johnson: my new favorite player =P.

Rockets - Spurs

My dream is to have Cousins on these Celtics. That would have been one freaky team with Rondo back.

Rockets are looking amazing right now, against the Spurs no less.
