Cleveland feels manipulated, like they were a stage for him to perform for other teams. His contract is incredibly team friendly and the Cavs are somewhat forced to trade him by Jan 9th(?) because that's when his entire salary of $12 million becomes guaranteed. Simmons says he wants to go to the Heat or the Clips. I don't see how either team could make a compelling package - the Clips might have a first rounder a few years into the future or Jamal Crawford. Also, any team can trade for him and instantly cut him, saving themselves a bunch of money in salary and cap impact because his contract is designed that way.

And I think I've reached the limit on my patience for Gasol. I have always defended him, but the dude needs to be benched when needed. He is just lounging around out there and not really trying at all times. He picked it up with Kobe, but now has his head out the game again. LA Media (and as a result, the fans) really takes it easy on him b/c he is such a classy, nice guy but time to call it like it is...he isn't earning his $$ (or at least doesn't give the impression out there, which is all that matters).

He's almost, by every metric, the definition of an average starting player. He's average. Not D-League, not 12th man. He's an average player. Of 400 odd professional NBA players, he's somewhere in the top 150-75. Is it somehow his fault some organization wanted to pay him a trillion dollars? EDIT: Changed the range, originally said 150-100.

The problem is he plays as a no.1 option and thinks he's good enough to be one. by that metric he is awful.
