People need to remember, Hazard Eto'o and Oscar did not play that game and have over half the Chelsea goals scored this season....what the fuck where we supposed to do? All we had is defensive midfielders and CB to play in CM. We have a CM to play RW and then Willian and Torres. Shirley is to inconsistent to start with and Ba is to slow. Someone tell me what we were supposed to do other than go there, get a result that is positive (aka not lose) and then take it back to the bridge where you would expect, Hazard Oscar Eto'o to be back and ready to play. We defended very well, kept Atletico to two chances which were headers, i am pretty happy about that. Different game second leg, mainly due to the result is going to be finalized that night, not tonight. Remember that please >.< Why play "offensive" with a weakened team just to please some fans who don't understand the 180minute match to lose it like it was nearly lost vs PSG due to not taking care of what was needed to be taken care of. Mourinho knows more about football and especially knock out games than most. If you question him on the basis of anti football which im not saying it wasn't for one game then your pretty deluded. Where was the /defend Chelsea in the premiership this year? I recall one time away to Yanited, that is the only team we have done that, other than that we have beaten the likes of Liverpool, City twice, Arsenal and Tottenham comfortably. Yet we still get labeled the anti football team when we go to Calderon and stop them scoring or take Bayern to penalties in the Super Cup with 10 men for over an hour, and taking the lead twice ![]() Anyway i won't rant, just look forward to more football where defenders DEFEND :D so exciting.

But Chelsea has been playing like that for years against strong opposition and they certainly didn't stop with Mou lol. The oil money and their destructive style of football in top matches does make it impossible for me to like them though, and I don't understand how anyone can. I feel so vindicated first CL semi I have passed off in like 20 years. We all knew what was going to happen, half the people called it, both teams play the same way and neither knows how to play when the other team doesnt want to score. Its all Chelsea goggles, for the neutral who for the most part just wants to enjoy the game its obviously sad since this is supposed to be the peak of entertainment and honestly if a team I supported won that way, it would suck but I would be over the moon so you cant really fault anyone for justifying it. But its bad for football in general because today I didnt watch it, tomorrow someone else wont.

I watched the game with a friend who only watches big games and doesn't follow the latest news and such and he said "damned chelsea, they always play like that, it would be so undeserving if they make it to the final". You can see that chelsea's image is getting destroyed if the average fan thinks like that.

If people can't understand that then so be it, but big games are won when you play that way away from home with a weakened team. Tonight if you want to see attack vs attack you tune into this game, watch no defensive tactics just a team trying to pass it's way through the eye of a needle and the other counter attacking with so much pace it's scary. xD I for one will be watching as i enjoy all football, im used to watching every kind of football and enjoy it all. Nothing beats semi final of the champions league and all the different tactics used. You telling me you felt the same way as you do with Chelsea when the sides of Milan and Juventus were dominating the champions league with hard rugged defensive jobs? ^_^

And yes I feel the same way when other teams play that way or when Greece won the Euro. Could very well be we will be critizising Atletico as much in the second leg.

With strikers in form and tactically ousting Barca in the previous round? We went there for a 0-0 and we got it. You think we will go for a 0-0 at home? Nope, we will go for a win as that is how we get through. If people can't understand that then so be it, but big games are won when you play that way away from home with a weakened team. You telling me you felt the same way as you do with Chelsea when the sides of Milan and Juventus were dominating the champions league with hard rugged defensive jobs? ^_^ It's not about tactics or anything, but when one team systematically destroys a game which has a shitload of hype surrounding it (IT'S THE SEMI FINAL OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!), people are very disappointed. I get that it's hard though with Oscar/Eto'o and Hazard not there, but it doesn't change the fact that for a neutral viewer or casual fan, this game was anti-advertisement to the game, which you should never expect from a CL semi-final. Oh and "watch no defensive tactics just a team trying to pass it's way through the eye of a needle and the other counter attacking with so much pace it's scary. xD" Parking the bus isn't the only way to have 'defensive tactics' in play. The way Liverpool for example build up from their defense (and I'm guessing in your example you mean Bayern) is another defensive tactic where they keep possession of the ball with a bigger risk, where Chelsea on the other hand lob it forward in the hopes of any Chelsea player luckily picking it up.

Well the way Bayern defend is like the way Barca did/used to/still do? Is by keeping the football, but they keep it high up the pitch so if they lose it, they are in deep trouble and so open to counter attacks due to that. That is why most teams play that way against Barca/Bayern. Let them have it, then press them when they step into your half win it back and counter. That isn't a solid defense imo, that is a good way to do it, but against the bigger quality teams it can hurt you. That was the way Bayern beat Barca last year right? Let them have it, as soon as they stepped into Bayern's half get into their faces win it back and use the pace of Ribery and Robben to counter. It worked well to say the least. The way Chelsea did it last night was pretty opposite i'll admit, we let Atletico have the ball all the way into just outside the box where again they would be rigid and not let any spaces. They were left with long range efforts or crosses into the box. Crosses were poor minus 2 in which they probably could of scored but didn't take their chances. Other than that they created nothing. Chelsea had 3-4 good counter attacks which slacked due to final ball, 2 from Torres and 1 from Willian. Other than that Torres won 3 corners and we messed up 2 set pieces from the edge of the box. Don't get me wrong i can understand people not liking to watch that game, if their team is not involved it just looks boring, but it is far from that when your a fan ![]() Oh well im sure tonight will make everyone forget leg 1 and like i said leg 2 at the bridge going be completley different. Especially because JT is out ![]()

Yet I won't ever blame them for doing something which obviously works. But I would find it very amusing if some day a team would go Chelsea on Chelsea. The ball would just lay on middle of the pitch, nobody would touch it and the players wouldn't know what to do now. Oh wait, West Ham did that and Mourinho critisized them for destroying the game hahaha.
