I'd say that 60 million offer + Di Maria already looked tempting - you bring immediate replacement for Bale and spend cash on Soldado (who's very underrated) or perhaps, as the rumours say, Adem Ljajić.

Like, everytime a talent appears on the team, a team such as Real Madrid or Barcelona just sends in a monstrous money offer that the player is inclined to accept because its every soccer player's dream to play for big giants. And when you get offered tons of money to do so, you, as a player, will always want the transfer and it will almost always be guaranteed. Essentially, this creates a cycle. Tottenham finally get a good player that can get them to the Champions League, Barcelona or Real Madrid just buy it off of them. Tottenham's dreams are ruined.

I'd say that 60 million offer + Di Maria already looked tempting - you bring immediate replacement for Bale and spend cash on Soldado (who's very underrated) or perhaps, as the rumours say, Adem Ljajić. Di Maria's camp made it very clear (via Marca) that he has no interest in going to Tottenham, even if it means sitting on the bench next season, so that rumor is bogus. edit: here is the source

Dormund could be an example too. almost bankrupt a couple of years ago and going to the CL final last season without a rich guy. We will see if they are able to break into the top 10 on a longer timescale.

Anyway I'm not even sure if Perez is all that interested in winning stuff and is possibly more interested in boosting the brand "Real Madrid". If you look at the most successful teams across all nations, the most successful teams are teams with home trained talent with a couple of key signings in the mix.

Subtract 10m if the player is playing outside of Spain, England, Italy Add 15m if he's under 25 Add 5m for every week without a new contract Add 10m if he is in some way connected with Real or Barca Add 200m if he's Messi
