Would only go higher you would think. Juan Fran might of got a release clause added to his contract. But when players sign a deal they pretty much have no intention of leaving so you would have to offer PSG levels of cash or Man City levels of wages for them to sign? | ||

rofl, why does this keep happening and who keeps leaking these headlines before the deals are done?? When City/Chelsea buy players there's usually very little speculation and if there is, the deals are wrapped very quickly. | ||

Basque teams in Spain (Athletic and Real Sociedad, Eibar was promoted this year, so it is another history) are very though for negotiations. They usually don't need to sell players, because Basque Country have of the best "canteras" in Spain and they produce lot of young talents (Xabi Alonso, Llorente, Javi Martinez, etc.). They don't have great debts like other spanish teams, and they invest lot of the money they earn in improve their "cantera" system instead of buying lot of players (specially Athletic, Real Sociedad buy some international players). So they are very stubborn for selling, and usually only accept the realease clause. Last year Real Sociedad refused all the Real Madrid offers for Illaramendi until they paid the 38,8 millions. Same Athletic with Javi Martinez. They even refused several offers to sell Llorente because they wanted that someone pay the 36 millions release clause. Finally the player left free next year without play that year because He had a fight with Bielsa. They didn't win any money with Llorente and Athletic elected president was so so stubborn with this issue. So don't expect a cheap transfer for MU. | ||
