Let me remind you messi won liga and guided barca to cl semis literally all by himself, all the while breaking records left and right even though he was injured for a month. #messi4thballon or is it the 5th I forgot, lol | ||

Ballon is about the best player, not the best team or whatever. Ribery scored 15 goals and assisted 26. Messi scored 60(lol) and assisted 18. If you also take in mind how useless xavi-iniesta have being this year it's a no brainer. Also Messi clearly stands out in most of his games while ribery is just another piece of the bayern machine. | ||

Anyway, there's still time to go. I think people are kind of "bored" with Messi getting the award every year and want someone else. But if you think about who was the better player on the pitch, throughout 2013 so far, then I don't think you can doubt that Messi has been better stats-wise and more dominant and influential for his team. So at this point anyone but Messi will be a slight surprise, but we'll see. Also, I find it kind of funny how Barcelona "backed out" of the big Barcelona-Bayern rivalry by simply putting on their youth team. Sure, pre season fitness building and whatnot, but still a bit of a cop-out I felt  | ||

I expect barca to go really well in cl this year but lose the league, the transition time between the two coaches will hit hard imo and will start paying off only after christmas. Cant compare goals only, ribery played LM in a more defensive lineup while messi played MS. Ribery did not only score goals and assists he also did alot of defensive work. Also ballondor is about titles. ribery won the treble while messi only won the league title. Bayern played as a team (which football is all about), everyone played extremely well, they were not only a one man show like barca. But how in hell does that mean that noone of them deserves the ballondor?? and imo ribery was the most important players for us. | ||
