Mascherano was doing the Vidal role for Liverpool before somehow ending up as a centreback at Barcelona. Not exactly, Vidal is phenomenal in passing and scoring too, he's one of the best box to box players right now. Masch was always about his defensive virtues. But yeah we need defenders as well, xD. Still I think you guys should get Vertonghen first, No! You can't have him! Vertonghen has already started the "If we don't make the CL, I'll have to look at the situation" quotes regarding his future, which probably means he's decided to leave. Let's hope that Levy's asking price of 40m + Alexis doesn't put Barca off! I can understand your feeling haha. He really is a great defender, I think Spurs have done a masterful bit of business buying him so cheap from ajax. That said 40m + Alexis + top quality manager and you got yourself a fighting chance next year. He's a great defender indeed and he deserves to play in the CL, so I won't hold it against him if he leaves. Realistically I think Levy would sell him for ~20m, but we'll see.

20m? hell no lol.
If Levy don't sell him for +30m then i dont know anything.

If Levy don't sell him for +30m then i dont know anything. Vertonghen only has 2 years left on his contract. Maybe he'd ask for 25, but Barca's transfer fund probably isn't huge after spending half the GDP of Catalonia on Neymar.

Hahaha that made me laugh more than it should have. But if Barca can't pay, than it would probably be better to sell him to a club that can honestly. 20m is a bit low, 2 years is still plenty of time.

Barca probably out of the race after that loss, just shows what kind of mastermind Pep was. Damn you rossell for ostracising poor Pep out of the club.

4 points with 11 matches to go is a lot in la liga.
whoa sandro with a pretty awesome shot vs chelsea, cech was on though. Tottenham been best the last 10 minutes or so, after chelsea started strong.

Nice shot and great save. Will be interesting to see what happens when Courtois returns.

Eriksen not fit?

The funny thing is that the team was playing better and scoring more before Messi returns from injury. It is like Messi has weakened the team.

Sherwood doesn't even play Eriksen most of the time, does he? Haven't followed Spurs at all this year.

Damn how on earth did Hazard miss that in first 4minutes. That first 4minutes was like the whole first half of Gala match lol xD Oh well i have confidence in Mourinho to take Shirley off and bring on Oscar/Willian and hopefully we get more joy out of the massive wholes in spurs back 4 xD

Afaik he's the one to put him in almost every match since the day he started. The idiot before him didn't put him on.
Sucks about the back injury =[

That's true. When messi is on the pitch suddenly everyone feels the urge to pass him the ball and to not take any chances for themselves. You can't do that all year long, not only the other players underperform but messi is under huge pressure to bail them out if everyone else is hiding. Just make the comparison between neymar in brazil 3 days ago and today. The coach need to shake the players up and Tata as good a tactician as he is, he hasn't managed to do that so far.

Hilarious mistake by Jan to give Eto'o the ball and Chelsea the lead.
|
In what world is that a red
|
In Oliver's world. Abysmal decision. Penalty and red. 2-0 Chelsea as Hazard slots it.
|
didn't look like much contact to me.

Scandalous, but not as bad as three years ago when Chelsea won 2-1 via an offside goal and a goal that didn't cross the line.
