Chelsea happy to sell for that price, Mata will more than likely not mind as he gets to play again. So the rumour was true? I wonder how much Ferguson's friendship with Mourinho had a hand in this transfer if this does come true.

No one in this world should be earning £100,000 a week let alone £770,000.....that is broken, broken as fuck. Surgeons and Drs get peanuts for the work they do and these footballers for playing a game they love and we like get this kind of money for entertainment? Yes, this world is broken xD Don't forget was about 50 years ago when people who were footballers used to pretend they were plumbers and builders when they were outside clubbing/parting trying to get females. Now it's the opposite. I do agree your point though, the reason this money can be "thrown around" is due to the TV rights going through the roof and sponsorship deals being that way inclined. However, there has been NO discussion ever of wage caps to stop this sort of stuff or to limit what goes on. FFP is only half of the problem and with a million loop holes in that system it won't work.

Football is a working class game that seems to have forgotten its origins. edit: Having said that, Barcelona building a new stadium is a step in the right direction.

You could buy a world class player every year with that kind of money, what happens when Xavi-Messi-Iniesta retire? The future of a club should always take priority. Edit: wait... Barcelona building a new stadium? Didn't building Camp Nou almost ruin the club? Ok so I read a little more about it. Redevelopment for around 500m euro which will add a roof and 7000 new seats.. idk how smart this idea is.

Not to mention that with the country struggling to get employment, now is as good a time as any to build a new stadium and it will help a lot of people get a job. Besides 500m euro is a lot of money, but most civil engineering loans are pretty long and not many banks expect the speed at which Arsenal and Bayern repayed their stadium loans.

Anyway, yeh Beater, i think our Juan is gone makes me sad, but also happy that he will be able to play and might be able to supply RVP and Rooney with some goals to make the rest of the pack drop points :DJust really hope Rooney can come save us next season xD

If doctors and scientists produced the same capital and fanfare that footballers did, they'd be getting paid the same amount of money as footballers do.
