Essien has even less. You can't just expect players that have barely been playing (if at all) to look as sharp as players with four months of match fitness under their belts.
It's not like these players have been injured and I presume they are still playing in the second squad. At my club we had a kid who had to fill in for our best player and managed to do a great job despite not having played a single match for the first team.
Of course he didn't look as sharp, but he at least worked his butt off. KDB looked lazy, uninspired and just out of place in the team.

Agger on loan to Napoli? At least that's what Italian newspaper are talking about right now

Yeah xD Be stupid for Liverpool if they let him go to be honest. Awesome business for Rafa though.

Sao Paulo last year were shite, Chelsea did what they are doing this year vs them, played well with the ball Torres missed like 2 open goals and in the 89th minute Sao Paulo decided to score game over. That was the best in Brazil and they had one decent player (imo) in Paulinho and he was bought pretty much after that by Spurs. Europe eat up the market for football talent thats why the club world cup is pointless due to not being anything worth playing against. Bayern will beat that slow old Mineiro team 4+ if they try and play football vs eachother. Ronaldinho isn't exactly going to be able to do anything to the Bayern back 4 nor is Jo. Gilberto Silva on the other side is going to have a long night chasing after Gotze and co
Corinthians was good because of team work, also the team is known down here for having good defense but not as good offense. This year in the Brazilian national championship, in 38 rounds, they took only 22 goals, but scored just 27, finishing in the 10th position with 11v, 17d and 10L. Atletico is a more well rounded team than Corinthians and I think they have a chance to win as long as Ronaldinho do not stay as a dead weight in the field, actually, at least I am not expecting the game to be like Barcelona against Santos in 2011...
Out of curiosity, adding up the Intercontinental Cup and Fifa Clubs World Cup Europe and South America are tied in regards to titles, each winning 26 times since 1960.

Yes i can understand why they are tied. For Chelsea last year it was more of an effort going to it and got in the way of our fixtures which destroyed us by the end of the season. Played a total of 63 games because of that! 63!!! August - May that is on average 6 games a month, which is crazy xD
Anyway back to the point, it always feels like a friendly cup like the Super Cup or a domestic pre season cup (Community Shield/German Super Cup/Coppa Itallia etcetc) than anything close to the champions league, the thing you win to get into it!

It would be a interesting tournament if the clubs in the world were more similar in level. But Europe and South America clubs are far far far away from the other confederations clubs.
At the end, it is almost the same that the old Intercontinental cup single match, but with filler matches before.

The Cup on the end of the season for brazilian teams, and 63 games its not too much for brazilian teams since by now Atletico has already played more than 70 games. Corinthians last year too must have played more than 70 games. Here its normal.
And the travel distance for our teams is bigger, for the national championship, for the continental cup, and to this "world cup" as well.

Brazilian teams play more than 70 games a season? what the fuck? Really? I would like to see some proof in this. On average a team in Europe plays 49 games or something daft. Chelsea made records with 63 games played and your saying Brazilians play more? 0.O

Transfer News!
Liverpool are preparing to make Luis Suarez the highest-paid player in the club's history by offering the striker a new contract that would double his wages to about £200,000 a week.
Marco Reus could have moved closer to a switch to Manchester United as Borussia Dortmund have effectively dropped out of the title race in Germany.
Sergio Aguero is in danger of missing City's tie against Barcelona after Manuel Pellegrini admitted his injury could be worse than he feared.
Manchester United and Liverpool could miss out on Porto midfielder Fernando as the Brazilian fancies a move to Italy instead.
AC Milan will tussle with Chelsea to sign Switzerland defender Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been told to forget about signing Hamburg's Turkey midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
Tottenham's Jermain Defoe was persuaded to join MLS side Toronto FC - after a phone call from rap star Drake.
That time of the year again TRANSFER WINDOW :D
Dammit, i thought that was how us and Real were going to tempt him away, that and the ability to be playing in Europe (Suarez that is)
Oh wow Aguero :o thats him out for a LONG time. Suddenly city don't like sure on title favorites with about 8-10 prem games before that game even starts
Lol Drake? Wtf xD

The team who goes to the World Cup plays 38(National Championship) + ~19-24(State Championship) + 14 (Continental Cup) + 2 (World Cup). There is a group of players who are fighting againt CBF because the number of games they must play and better work conditions for the players from lower divisions. They're called Bom Senso F.C. something like "The Football Club of Reason".

Gotta admit his scoring record thus far does not say that would be money wasted? Hell Torres is on 180,000 a week ffs ;_; lol
His record is 33 goals in 30games in 2013 i think. And this season he is 17 goals in 12 games. Also last season he finished with 30 goals from 40 games which again is great for a striker.
Id happily give him that much, but i do understand it is ALOT of money. But this day and age...

No it's not. It's exactly what he's worth. £200k p/week is bang on considering the going rate.
He is a superstar. Slightly mental but a superstar none the less.

2013 started on 20th of January and for most clubs ended December 8th. For the club who played the Sulamericana Cup (secondary continental cup) ended on 11/12 and for Atlético will end 21/12.

So far his stats show that he has fixed the mental part as well (only 1 yellow card!) and I haven't seen him dive or bite anyone since his suspension! And Liverpool will be getting most of the money back just by qualifying for the champions league (seems like a sure thing) and some more for the league finish. Besides if he does leave, which still seems likely he is going for at least 70+mil for that kind of contract.
Btw with that kind of injury to Aguero. Liverpool find themselves with perhaps their biggest chance to win the league since that season where Torres was scoring from every angle.

Season in Brazil goes from end of January to the first week of december. Politics in Brazilian football are just as mad as the real politics resulting in the top teams playing in their respective state tournament with a bunch of semi-pro teams.

Except for Ronaldo and Messi, I don't see anybody better than Suarez right now... He's at the same superstar level as Ibra or Rooney. A 9 that can do something more. I wish Barça had signed him this last summer Now I'm afraid Madrid is going to snatch him as I don't see him leaving for another english team.
