uhhh.. These are what qualified as world records at the time. Its not the highest transfers paid period. I guess some people need it spelled out even when its painfully obvious.. Or do you really think Shearer at 15 million is a top 10 world record fee ? @ Raidern Yea man. Betis was actually pretty decent with him on it for a couple of years.. "worlds best dribbler" when they signed him. Dont know if you recall, both him and that Betis team fizzled hard after a couple of years of above average seasons.. He did have injury problems though..

As according to Suárez and his supporters he carries the club. Watch when he rejoins them they lose. He didn´t play in the last games of 12/13 either, we won them aswell. Rodgers needed time to implement his ideas, he still needs more time. While the team was struggling pre-christmas last year Suarez was having a blinder banging goals in left and right. This Liverpool team is still work in progress, but the progress the last year has been insane. What I try to say is that this is a very good football team now, and as seen last spring it is no longer dependent on the amazing Luis Suarez. He is still world class, and would walk into any team in the league. He will be a great addition to the team, but he will not be the team. Coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez will be a deadly attacking trio! At least Im 99% sure of that, and I really hope for it to be true!

Also people are praising Tottenham and that's cool...but I am surprised they didn't want to actually have a transfer budget beyond what they already had taken in? I mean, usually a director will give a manager like 20 mill to play around with, or 30 mill if they are a big team. Or 100 mill if they are chelsea/man city. However it seems Levy has given AVB exactly 0 mill on top of what money they have made in sales...kind of weird. If Arsenal do make a big signing or two I would expect them to finish above Spurs again. On September 02 2013 05:39 Rebs wrote: Or possibly.. god forbid "gasp" .. they play better ? If a Liverpool team can play well without Suarez carrying them they for all his faults will be better off as a team.. also Top 10 world record fees. Its actually staggering how inflated the last half a dozen years have become.. 10. Alan Shearer - £15 million (1996) Blackburn Rovers to Newcastle United 9. Ronaldo - £19.5m (1997) Barcelona to Inter Milan 8. Denilson - £21.5m (1998) Sao Paulo to Real Betis 7. Christian Vieri - £32m (1999) Lazio to Inter Milan 6. Hernan Crespo - £35.5m (2000) Parma to Lazio 5. Luis Figo - £37m (2000) Barcelona to Real Madrid 4. Zinedine Zidane - £53m (2001) Juventus to Real Madrid 3. Kaka -£59m (2009) AC Milan to Real Madrid 2. Ibrahimovic - £60.7m (2009) Inter Milan to Barcelona 1. Cristiano Ronaldo - £80m (2009) Manchester United to Real Madrid edit: Ohhh Messi is human.. Just thinking about some of these is insane. The talent has been getting any more but the price just goes up and up.
