Eh 5 times in 10 years is a pretty good run, we'll be back. we always come back.

We owned the 80's the Bulls owned the 90's and we owned the 2000's. I can live with owning every OTHER decade. :D

LeBron doesnt need to win another 3 in a row or be greater than Michael. LeBron is a very good player as is and will go down in history alongside Jordan for his own reasons and accomplishments.

There is no need to compare anyone.

It's true--LeBron will probably sign with the Lakers next year, thus confirming his transformation from Anakin to Darth Vader.

To be honest, I really am not sure how this town would react to that. I'm really not sure how I'D react to that.

it would be worse then the decision, everyone's two most hated things in basketball coming together.

The amount of shitty fan shit throwing would be insurmountable..

lol he had a really solid game, to be sure.

Lebron's mvp speech was really weird, I was expecting him to bust out in song when he said "I aint got no worries"

If the heat don't win the championship next year it'll be the same discussion all over again. Just look at last year where I'd say his game 6 performance facing elimination in boston was a much more legendary performance and example of "clutch" than anything he put out this year.

Didn't I read somewhere that Shane Battier said he was retiring if the Heat won the finals this year?

I don't think they can, for two reasons. On the holistic level, it would "wrong" to break up a repeat championship team, it is something of a betrayal to the fans and, I feel, is a spit in the face of competition. Secondly, the contracts of the Big 3 are just too big. They are legacy contracts from before the new CBA, they ramp fast and their MAXXXXX in the most untradable ways. So, I think it's unlikely unless Houston is in love with Bosh or something.

This Tim Duncan interview is breaking my heart. Rest now Tim, you played hard Q_Q

except that is exactly what Jerry Krause did after the Bulls' second three-peat

Phil Jackson retired. Scottie Pippen was traded at his own bequest, since the Bulls had managed to royally screw him financially over 8 seasons. Jordan retired. Even Rodman was a free agent.

I mean I'm all for building around Scotty Burrell and Luc Longley but there was nothing to keep there.

That's what I hated though. It was all the management that fucked over one of the best teams in history. Phil Jackson shouldn't have retired then either. Jordan said it in an interview before, but that team wasn't done yet. Definitely could've accomplished more, but once it broke apart it was done for and it lead to Jordan's retirement.
