Each slot has a maximum of 82 games to be used. Once you pass it you stop gaining stats. There are two ways to look at it:

1.) Hit the limits tab to see how much you have left.

2.) Go to the top and look at the sub-menu under "My Team". Go to More, and select Max & Pace. This is very useful for knowing how fast you'll run out of games.

This is partially why superstars and top heavy rosters can win: 1 game from say Durant is worth 3 or 4 games from a mid-tier player.

Ok so you see the SF spot. That's for Small Forwards. You can use any combination of people eligible for the SF spot up to 82 times. So let's say you have Durant, Gerald Wallace, and Joe Johnson. You can split it say 40, 30, 12 and use up all 82 games for the SF spot.

However this would be silly if we could only get 40 games from Durant. Hence there are more spots to slot him in: the F spot (any SF or PF) and the Utility spots which let you put any player in regardless of position.

Players with dual eligibility like Andre Igoudala (SG/SF) and Jamal Crawford (PG/SG) are solid because you can slot them in up to 4 places.

oh okay now i get it.

does the stats aside from the starting 5 are also counted? or will there be penalties (like 50% of stats since he's not on the starting 5)?

Errr, anyone who happens to work for NOH here? ;D Can't decide whether or not to put Gordon in tonight, at best he'll come off the bench with very limited minutes, and I'm not benching Capt. Kirk (he'll play 30+ mins).. Question is; is Royce White with his rookie minutes better than a Gordon that MIGHT get a couple of minutes of the bench?
