I was actually impressed with Celtic. But they did not have "a truckload of chances" lol, as someone stated.
Show me those "truckload of chances" and I will give you a new car. They had a lot ball possesion and were really hard on the "second balls". They had a few good balls dropping into the box and that was sort of it...
I think Shaktar - Dortmund will be a really good game with quite some goals. I hold Shaktar 60 % favorite because of home advantage.
I hope United beats Real cause I got money riding on it

Hoping for Dortmund to rock Shaktar today. Really excited for that match. Dortmund had last year to get the nerves out, so I see them going a long way this year, with all the talent they have.
Fully expect Man U to knock Real Madrid out in this round. Should be a great game to watch.

lol. just lol. I saw plenty of opportunities for Celtic to score yesterday. Free shots from outside the penalty box, free headers, 2 very good shouts for penalties and a braver ref would have sent off Lichtsteiner. Of course Juventus let Celtic have those chances because it was obvious they lacked the quality to do anything with them, but give those chances to a side like Madrid or United and Ronaldo/Van Persie walk away with a hattrick.
And I'm not taking anything away form Juventus. I just think Celtic deserved better than the 0-3 they got, which to be fair is the result you get if you can't defend.

So with apologizes to yesterday's teams, tonight is the real deal. Two of the biggest clubs of the world and two of the best upcoming teams playing each other. Would have loved to not have those matches at the same day, but I guess with games like Arsenal-Bayern and Milan-Barca, some of those had to happen at the same time.
edit: I'd bet on Donezk 2:2 Dortmund and Real 3:1 ManU.

Vidic isn't even on the bench I think Pandemona. Surprised there's no Valencia, he has some defensive value too. Carrick is having a blinding season, he's really working it...he'll have to step up to Lampard/ Gerrard levels if they are to have a good result. Also a goal from RVP would help them.
I predict maybe 3-2 to RM.

Pretty sure Vidic's knee is acting up again, such a shame.
I'm not a fan of putting Welbeck and Kagawa on the wings - Welbeck isn't a winger-type and Kagawa is best playing behind the striker which Rooney is doing tonight.

Are you sure it's not more like Kagawa in the middle and Rooney on wing. Though I'm guessing the whole front is going to be interchanging, but it does seem like they aren't prioritizing the wide wing play.
And playing against Madrid who have possibly the deadliest counterattack in the world the backs can't afford to be that aggressive.
