For me domestic finals are a real disappointment. We already saw this game a couple of weeks ago. I would hope Dortmund win but I actually really want Bayern to - they deserve it after last year, and Heynkes winning the treble and then being forced out to make way for the great Pep would be hilariously glorious for him.

Guttman's curse strikes again! What is that, 7 straight finals losses for Benfica?

Hoping for Bayern to win so that at least Benfica can be on Pot 1 of the CL next year.

Was a GG Mr Warding You played so well in the first half, but wtf why did you try to pass it into the net? So many occasions you could of worked Petr Cech but choose to play an extra pass or in some occasions an extra 2! Also my Benfica mate who watched it with me says he prefers Lima to Cardoza, who do you prefer? He is also not to unhappy they lost as now Jorge Jesus might get sacked. He doesn't seem to like him after they went to Porto to just /defend! Said it was similar last year? xD

itd be the second time Heynckes wins the CL as a trainer, then has to leave in the same season..
anyways, great storylines for this final. Dortmund has humiliated Bayern alot during the last years and if they win this time again, bayern wont be feeling good about this season even if they go 1 1 2.

Cardozo is a much better finisher. He's kinda limited in what he can do but if he's left alone in front of the goalie he's one of the most dangerous strikers out there.

But hasn't Lima scored more than him this year? 28goals Lima has and didnt Cardoza have 26 before the penalty?

By the way did anyone see this 'godly' outfit xD

Nah, Lima is the 2nd best scorer of the team, I'm positive about that though I don't know exactly how many goals he has scored.
@sc4k yeah we have some regular characters in our games lol, that's one of the most recent ones.

Oh fair enough xD Still was a good game! Would you be happy if Jorge Jesus was sacked btw? Or do you think he deserves to continue ?

I would value him around 15 million I think, he can definitely perform but he is no Van Persie or Suarez is he! Incidentally I think his better position would be playing off another striker or even as a 'trequartista' attacking midfielder. I would still rather keep him although if another striker turned up and another club made a legit offer, perhaps letting him go would make sense. If we continue to play with 3 attacking mids, it's going to be unlikely we will play with 2 strikers. But if we do, 4 strikers in the squad makes sense. Like I say I'd happily take Wilfried Bony plus the other 3 (including Lukaku) so we can play Man City style, but if we get Falcao/Cavani maybe it would be better to have 3 strikers so they don't get too bothered ego-wise.
O comon man, I mean he sucks now but no one has ever caused Vidic the kind of grief Torress did, he was an absolute beast at his peak.
Look even guys like Hasselbank and Kevin Phillips scored lots of goals but you never really consider them absurd talents like you would Torress in his prime. If hes playing to what he should hes your ideal out and out striker just as good if not better than Suarez and on par with Van Persie. Lets not forget for all the class Van Persie had hes been a glass cannon most of his life and only really has 2 odd great seasons under his belt.
Right now there is no good position for him because hes just bad. everytime he runs at someone he goes from graceful to clumsy in 2 steps. Theres something more than a recovery from injury that caused it, he didnt exaclty get the rub of the green either. But you can see its still there somewhere.
I really really hope he recovers, not just for Chelsea but because I really wish that he doesnt fizzle.

Jorge Jesus deserves to continue. Benfica hasn't played at this quality level since 1994. He's been able to elevate the quality of our players substantially and we're playing great attacking football. Benfica has a lot of players that will continue to grow and with additions like Djuricic next year then we're likely to do a good job in Europe again and the PT league will again be a two-horse race.
On the duel with Porto, if the top-level management of the clubs and management of the teams are at the same level, on the long run Benfica will have much more success, if only because it has more paying associates, higher TV and sponsorship revenue. Porto managed to stay on top based on revenue from selling players, management stability (and better managers, ie. Mourinho), and CL revenue. In the last 4 years Benfica has matched Porto in all these factors, so it's only a matter of time until Benfica again becomes dominant.
Looking at Benfica's performance this season, if we hadn't had these two 90+2 goals against us in the space of 5 days with a completely exhausted team, we would have had the best season since 1962. So we can't be in that bad of a shape right now.
On Cardozo and Lima, neither is world class, but both are very useful in their own way. Overall Cardozo is far more accomplished. I'm anxious to see Rodrigo develop into his full potential though, and unfortunately Nelson Oliveira has been a disappointment this season.

No I totally agree with everything you say. Just saying right now I value him at 15 million until he proves he is not, as you put it, fizzling.

Porto has lost 1 (one) game for the Portuguese league in the past 3 (three) seasons. Of course they probably manage to do this by corrupting referees, but it means that to win a Portuguese league Benfica has to be pretty much flawless. Which they were, almost. I don't don't see who could do a better job than Jesus, and any change involves risks that I'd rather not take at this point since I like the direction we're taking.
Next year Benfica becomes possibly the first club to broadcast its home games in its own TV channel, that could be huge.

Yeh my mate was on about that. Says he watched every game at work on the laptop of Benfica and next year they have a deal to broadcast all premier league games on it and the membership fee covers that too. So will be able to watch Prem games included which is pretty awesome xD Also going to generate alot of money for Benfica too? Most sports bars in Portugal are going to need Benfica TV to show English games xD

Am I the only one who would like to see a behind the scenes, comeback trail documentary of Torres as he rebuilds himself back to his old status, called Torres vs the World? With Mata as his trusty sidekick and comic relief from David Luiz.
