Too offensive minded as well. Not putting players on the line feels like something you'd do to hit harder on the counter-attack, but Benfica should have been thinking of just surviving first. | ||

All the Benfica players went forward, it looks like they were trying to counterattack or they didn't think Chelsea would shoot immediately and they could catch someone offsides. BTW Rafa and any future Chelsea manager never play Ramires as a winger >______> | ||

He has no idea where the ball is gonna go after it comes down, what if it's centered and finished by someone he kept onside? It's the kind of thing that is just part of the strategy they've planned for corners. If anything, I think the keeper played it poorly. He overcommits to the near post when Ivanovic's only legit option is the far post top corner. The Benfica defenders have the near post/low options more or less covered. That said, I think it's just a really well executed set piece from Chelsea. I think that you praise Chelsea, not slam Benfica for that play. | ||
