Also U-20 WC kicks off today. Squads here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_FIFA_U-20_World_Cup_squads On paper, the French look the strongest - Spain and England are using their U-21 squad rejects. However I think Uruguay is a dark horse for this tournament. While Thiago would be a nice buy by United, do I really see him being most effective playing alongside Carrick as a deep lying midfielder? His skill set seems to suggest a better fit in the Kagawa/Rooney CAM role.

Apparently Christian Tello has a release clause worth 10m Euros as well... Yeah France's U20 squad is LOADED. Gonna be a shocker if they don't go far in that tournament...

It's sad that spain and england are using the U-21 rejects, although i don't think that the kinds of deulofeu and jese are B-Teamers, but I really don't know all of the team so you're probably right. In the English team I only recognize Eric Dier. It's a shame that Brazil that won the last U-20 WC isn't on the competition. I think that the portuguese team is strong (stronger than the one who got 2nd place 2 years ago) but we lack a good striker... If you're watching the games you should look for Bruma, Tiago Ilori, João Cancelo, André Gomes, Tó Zé and Ricardo. These are the best players along with the two players that come from barcelona (Lé and Cá).

If Yedlin is as good as everyone says he is (I don't watch Sounders games that often :o, but apparently he's starting for them as a 19 year old) then our defense got much improved over the qualifying phase. However, hopefully our psyche wasn't hurt too bad after getting dismantled by the French in the Toulon tournament. Of course, I think that French team was probably a little stronger than the one we'll be playing in the group phase.

His name hasn't really appeared in the transfer gossip but I would understand if he wanted to move. With Neymar coming in, he's not guaranteed to get more playing time than last season. Perhaps Barcelona will loan him out.

Well, he certainly wouldn't be a direct replacement since Tello's more of a winger than a striker. I also get the feeling that he's quite loyal to Barcelona, so he might opt to stay and take his chances. That or a loan spell would probably suit him more than a permanent move, especially to a team that likely won't see Champions League football for some time.

Maybe Tello wanted a release clause so he had a way out if he never got to play? If not Liverpool, could anyone see Bayern buying Tello? Pep knows him, and with Ribery and Robben getting older, Tello/Shaqiri could be the future on the wings.

That could certainly happen, though you would question if Tello would be willing to swap warming the bench at Barcelona for doing the same thing, just at another club.

great to see korea play the "korean" way after the senior team failed to show anything for the past two years. Playing direct passes that AREN"T long balls, pressing, and of course a few defensive errors and profligacy on goal lol.

I'd love gunes as coach. Another well known Turkish club(forgot name) offered him the job but he is still holding out for the Korea job. Hong myung bo was "confirmed" but i guess not lol.
