Holy crap what a headed-clearance on the goal line by Gerrard. And Reina kisses his head.

Never heard anyone say it's not a contact sport though. I don't get this at all. What do hockey and basketball have to do with each other? Hockey is one of the most physical sports in the world and basketball really isn't as physical as hockey or American football. In other news, Greuther Fürth is making a ridiculous run to stay in the Bundesliga. They were on the bottom of the table for the entire year, and now they've gotten 4 ties and a win since the New Year, and several of them against good teams. They just went up against Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2nd minute or so (although FF has tied it). Some incredible play and it would be great to see them make a run to survive in the Bundesliga. It's also an incredible race to get 4th place in the Bundesliga (and a spot in Champions League qualifying). We have Frankfurt making a run for it, who were just promoted; Schalke, who are probably the best out of the contenders and should have done much better this year; Freiburg, who are kind of a dark horse player and haven't made it in a very long time; Mainz, who have never made it to the Champions League; and Mönchengladbach, who lost two incredible players (Reus and Dante) and are still challenging. Should be really exciting.

Sadly Greuther Fürth lost 2-3 in the end. Strangely enough their team was way better last year when they won the 2nd Division, they beat several Bundesliga clubs in the DFB-Pokal and held Dortmund to a goalless draw. I guess their transfers sucked.

I know lets hire Paolo DiCanio, a guy that goes ape shit and does mourinho style press conferences without being a good manager (or proven atleast) Paolo di Canio appointed as Sunderland manager on two-and-a-half-year deal Chairman Ellis Short said: "Paolo is hugely enthused by the challenge that lies ahead of him. He is passionate, driven and raring to get started. "The sole focus of everyone for the next seven games will be to ensure we gain enough points to maintain our top-flight status. "I think that the chances of that are greatly increased with Paolo joining us. "Our fans have shown tremendous patience and understanding this season. "They have continued to back the team in huge numbers, both home and away, and that is something that continues to inspire all of us in our drive to give them the successful club they deserve. "That remains our primary aim."

And the two-and-a-half year deal seems to imply that this is going to be a long-term appointment. Really, really crazy. You've got to wonder with how quickly they got it done, they've been courting him for a little while. Oh yeah, I totally forgot that he's also a fascist, -_-

Edit: Funny how I could never see it before but now that I'm watching on an HDTV I can find all the assholes with laser pointers. Ashely Cole pulls up and grabs his hamstring, being subbed off for Ryan Bertrand. Nice dive, Oscar. Sold it perfectly. Holy crap Cech just made the most acrobatic save. What a goal by Demba Ba!
