Strangely I knew all of those, overall got 9/12. Maybe I watched too many "football curiosity" etc. videos on youtube where actually some of the described stuff happened. But I think I also had some lucky guesses. | ||

If you think the defensive weakness last year was the players or lack of quality then you weren't actually paying attention to Chelsea matches. The defensive weakness last year was the high line which just didn't take. Chelsea still have top defensive players in Cahill, Terry, Cole, Ivanovic, Luiz. Bertrand is also looking quality. We will need to bring in new backs in the next 2-3 years, but it was much more pressing to get attacking players. When you lose Drog and are just sitting on Torres, you are going to be desperate for attacking influence. Take out Kalou, another attacker, and Malouda is getting less influential. Compare our attack to Man City or Man U! Pathetic depth. Now add in all the names you mentioned, and it's looking far more like a team that can be competitive in the high ranks of the prem. Hazard is going to be a wonderful influence on the wing, Mata will be able to play wing or centrally, Oscar can play in most attacking roles, Marin can also play the wing very well. We need another striker but otherwise things are coming along nicely. Chelsea have some solid defensive midfielders in the form of Lamps, Mikel and Meireles. The weakness was in the depth at wing and creative midfield positions, and striking. We already had lots of experience, we needed youth and creativity. The signings we have made are just what the doctor ordered! A 4-2-3-1 formation will make Chelsea very potent, and we will have depth to be able to play 2 matches a week, and be injury resistant in most places other than striker. | ||

 On a biased note, come on you Gunners tomorrow! Whilst injuries are still clearing up at the moment, I'm very hopeful we'll end up with a nice attacking 4-3-3 later in the season when Wilshire gets back. We have the players now to make that a very potent threat to any team. Would also like to see us pick up another defender (and a new CDM if Song is actually going to leave too) before the transfer window closes, but it wouldn't be a transfer window without Arsenal needing and failing to buy defensive players, would it? T_T | ||
