What are the benefits of loans? as far as I know, the player returns after a year(?) with the team. the player gains experience (due to more playing time probably?) why would you loan a player? To cut wages for a player you hardly use and nobody wants to buy. Arsenal do this a lot.

Hahaha, damn I can already picture Arsene actually considering this for real XD Talking in his french accent on how he devises a plan to push Djourou and Bendtner out of an airplane on their next training camp.

It's better than paying for their wages and rotting them in the reserves/substitutes.

Most loans are for players to get first team experience Chelsea for instance sent out Lukaku for a season to West Brom; Cortios to Atletico Madrid (now in 2nd season) and Piazon to Malaga for 6months. Youngsters need to learn responsibilities of playing week in week out and needing to win. Not sat on the bench playing 10-20minutes every now and then. Also you don't improve being sat on the bench

Chelsea bought Lukaku for 20-30million or something, labeled the new Drogba and is only 19. West Brom wanted him to go there so they can use him as 2nd choice striker, which makes Chelsea happy he gets games, and West Brom happy they get a solid striker in return. Or in other ways. Youngsters go on loan to league below to get experience.

Chelsea should make a signing of Jack Butland imo, cuz when Chelsea want a player, we normally get him ![]() Everton and Frer looks to go to the wire QPR is a question of how many not if they bring anyone in xD Man City suppsodily chasing Villa to replace Balotelli Arsenal might make a move for someone Liverpool might bring in someone else Then you have the rest of the premier league clubs towards the bottom who might be desperate; Wigan/Aston Villa/Norwich/Newcastle/Southampton/Reading/Sunderland/Fulham

I hope Arsene picks up a fucking defensive midfielder. Can't continue to get out-muscled against the other big clubs.

Crewe had to leave him because Fulham wants him to play every game possible but Crewe wants to use their own academy players and rotate LDV but Fulham didnt agree on that.

Two reasons probably, 1 Turnbull is horrifically bad. 2 Courtois will probably refuse to sign a contract extension and will demand a transfer soon (to at madrid probably...maybe this is even the plan...to part exchange him for Falcao) because Cech signed a long term extension and Courtois is way too good to be a backup keeper. Interestingly enough in my football manager game where I managed Saints for two seasons then got offered the job at Chelsea, my first thing to do was sell both Courtois and Cech...and buy Ter Stegen > ![]()

Unless its in the loan terms. And someone mentioned its the good player that cant be afford to be bought thats sold. Dafuq? While that does happen often enough. Its actually if anything more kids who are a part of your plans for the future and need top or high tier playing experience that get loaned out and the benefit (usually) to the team that is loaned the player is that they pay part or very little of the players wages, get a semi free promising young player for their squad. It also allows the club who loans the player to track his progress. Wilshere is pretty good example.

Ronaldo's performances in Portugal have shown that he really doesn't require a supporting cast to be able to show his greatness but Messi has left us in doubt...his performances with Argentina haven't been what you would expect when you have Aguero and Tevez on your side. On the other hand, people can also say that Messi elevates Barca's game (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2240824/Barcelona-Lionel-Messi-says-Arsenal-boss-Arsene-Wenger.html) but tbh I think it's really a symbiotic thing...that team provides him the perfect opportunity to succeed. I believe that, when all's said and done...Messi is 'better' when surrounded by Barca than Ronaldo when surrounded by RM...BUT in terms of who would be better in a wide range of teams...I think Ronaldo would be. I think there are plenty of teams where Messi would fail to make as much of a mark but I struggle to think of a type of game that Ronaldo would not be able to adapt to.

If we sign Butland this will only back up the proposal of Cortios will not be a Chelsea player past the summer. Or we might keep them both, they both are young. If Butland doesn't make it really good, Cortois becomes the no1 keeper and Butland no2. Cech will be gone after his contract runs out. Transfer News: Everton confirm deal for FC Twente's Leroy Fer is off Everton have pulled out of the deal to sign Dutch international Leroy Fer. The Toffees agreed an £8.6million deal with Twente earlier this week, but issues emerged with the transfer after the player arrived in England and had a medical. Source Done Deal! Liverpool have signed midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Inter Milan Liverpool have confirmed midfielder Philippe Coutinho has moved to Anfield from Inter Milan on a long-term contract. Source
