Defensive cover is needed (LB in particular) but last season the unit was also devastated by injuries - Vidic for most of the season, Jones and Smalling also missed significant parts. Evans has improved noticeably, and between Jones and Smalling I'd think at least one of them (if not both) will become a reliable defender. We could stand to sign a more star defender but I think that just with more available players this season will go better than last. In midfield, Scholes is probably on his last season, Giggs really shouldn't be used as a CM under any circumstances, Carrick is now 31 and I feel like he's reached his peak, and we've lost our two biggest midfield stars from the youth team - Pogba and Morrison. Now Kagawa is a *fantastic* CAM who can be the maestro of our attack for years to come. Cleverley looked promising before getting injured last season. And I liked Tunncliffe's effort during the world tour (seems like he can become a player in the mold of Fletcher). I'm worried SAF believes too much that Anderson will reach his potential -- um, is it me or does he seem in worse physical shape than he was a year ago? I think we really need to go in for a strong defensive or holding midfielder. Lucas or RVP would both be amazing signings but unless the player is of that quality, we really don't need any more AM/winger/ST signings. All the talk for weeks has been about them, and they'd be huge for the team, but if not them then a defender (probably LB) and a central midfielder are the positions SAF needs to focus on.

Even as a Liverpool fan I don't like Adam, but for Bale to call HIM a coward? fuck me! He admits in interviews he dives all the time so he doesn't get taken out and he didn't want to play for team GB so he said he's injured... but somehow he is magically fine to play for Tottenham on the same days. He's the fucking coward.

They are too busy pursuing frivolous name calling cases and trying to punish someone for something a court deemed them not guilty of.

If I was a madrid fan, I could give Kaka another opportunity and give him 1 more year Sahin is an amazing player, but he's one of those cases of a talented player not being given the chance to develop because his team has too high ambitions to field anyone but a fully developed top player. It's a shame really and I saw it coming. Should've stayed in Dortmund. I think Kaka is waaay past his prime. I don't think we'll see much of him in the Serie A either.

Hes still really good though, considering he didnt get the ball as much he prob would like at Madrid when he did get games. Performed pretty well near the end of the season. Sure hes past his prime but he can still start for most teams in the world atm. England would be difficult though, its alot more rigourous then the other leagues.
