41 Korean Players Receive Lifetime Bans from Football

FIFA can today confirm the extension of sanctions on 41 players from Korea Republic related to a domestic match-fixing investigation dating back to the summer of 2011.

All 41 players have been sanctioned with a lifetime ban from all football activity by the K-League and the Korea Football Association’s disciplinary committees. The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has extended the sanctions to have worldwide effect.

Oh dear Korean football is/was corrupt

Damn. First BW, now Football. They have a real problem with matchfixing.

lol, pretty sure matches are fixed throughout the world
Just most are never caught.

In relatively smaller leagues with money at stake, to great extent thats probably true. But we dont care about those so at the highest level it doesnt matter.

I personally couldnt give a shit about the developement of the game in another country being hindered or stunted because of stuff like this. Maybe I should but I dont. Just want to watch the game.

I believe it happens more on the big leagues, la liga, premier and ofc the italian.
My dick has shrunk to the point where it looks like I have 3 balls.

Well the Italian league didnt get away with it.

As for other big leagues. I dont know. They are under to much scrutiny legit or otherwise for it to go on to long before the can gets kicked so the incentives arent very high.

Italy certainly didnt get away with it and alot of teams that perhaps werent as involved went under the kosh aswell.

I dont even think you can call it a major league anymore for that matter.

It actually happens more with the small leagues afaik. It's very easy to excuse a player to kick the ball over the sideline from the start when the quality of play is low. First throw-in to X team is hard to catch, especially when it's in for example the second league in the Netherlands, and you can bet on that stuff as well.

Match-fixing is usually not match outcome that they want to alter, just weird gamble-y bets that are easy to win if you pay some player. First foul or something is not that hard either.

God damn that game sounds frustrating . I didn't see it but fuck it. It's only the dumbass league cup. Noobass trophy anyway. I do hope we get a comeback but tbh I hope Bradford City win it all if we can't, at least it will mean a shit load to their supporters.

Why did they have to hide the security chasing an intruder on the pitch during the Swansea/Chelsea game? I'd have loved to watch that chase, who cares what the Goalie is doing.

In September 2009, Le Tissier revealed in his autobiography that he had placed a spread bet on a match he was involved in during his playing career. During an April 1995 match at Wimbledon, Le Tissier stood to win "well into four figures" after betting on the time of the first throw-in. After kicking off, he tried to overhit a pass to unsuspecting teammate Neil Shipperley, but due to nerves, underhit it and Shipperley was able to keep the ball in play. Le Tissier revealed he had "never run so much" in his life as he tried to put the ball out of play to avoid losing money, with the ball eventually going out of play after 70 seconds, meaning Le Tissier and his associates neither won nor lost money.[27] The event was investigated by Hampshire Police but the Crown Prosecution Service refused to take the case further, citing that it did "not represent appropriate use of police resources" and "would not be in the public interest".[28]

Awkward. Didn't know Pep disliked Ronaldo to be honest and I'm guessing neither did Ronaldo.

I hope he just didn't see his hand. That's a stone cold insult otherwise.

ROFL Bradford vs Swansea in the Carling Cup final? dafuq :D i'm torn. I hope Bradford win just for the wtf-ness of it all, but Swans in Euro League would be nice.

Also, it's hilarious that Torres got so much time with Ba on the bench.

Pretty sure he didn't see he wanted to shake hands and I'm not too sure CR wanted to even. Catalans in general are reserved people and don't usually go for it, Guardiola and Tito are good examples.

There is debate as to whether it was an attempted handshake or an apology.

If it was the handshake, then yeah that's insulting, but we can't see if his hand is extended.
He could be apologizing for having bumped Guardiola with his elbow or arm, a little touch on the shoulder to apologize and then he moves on.

What do you guys think?

Perhaps it has to do with that little incident where Ronaldo gave Pep a push for throwing the ball away. Or it could be that Ronaldo wasn't looking for a handshake and Pep knew that. In the end, who cares?

Not yet. Still 2nd legs to go but they both have the advantage.
