@NuclearJudas: Guess it's about salary - Mönchengladbach can afford to pay pretty well after selling half of their team (especially Reus, Dante), having low all-around costs and surprisingly being able to qualify for CL this year.
Naldo didn't pass the 1st medical test because of knee issues. Transfer on hold until further tests, it seems.

If it's gonna happen it'll be in the next few years I don't think it's outside the realms of possibility. Let's see if Villas Boas really knows what he's doing.

Lolzipop You think after your best chance in years last season your going to get better? By bringing in a manager who divided a dressing room at Chelsea, and one signing of a CB to add to the 5 you already have? xD I think your going to struggle alot this season and would be lucky to scrape another Europa League spot. However, your manager likes the 2nd rate European competition....you might win that
And before you comment...+ Show Spoiler + Im a Chelsea fan please don't take anything i said literally, i don't like Spurs, it's all biast hope XD

Haha ok. In fairness I think Chelsea are going to go far this season. Good manager, ambitious signings. Two corrections though, it's three signings for Spurs thus far (Sigurdsson, Vertonghen, Adebayor), and we really don't have that many CBs

Be interesting to see if Modric does decide to go, if he does you have no chance to get champions league, i see Arsenal failing this season though so i guess you could beat them to it as we all know Liverpool will fail again. Newcastle surely wont get no where near where they did last season.
Kaboul can play at right back and sometimes even midfield, Gallas doesn't play exclusively CB, Bassong...doesn't play really, Dawson yeah, King has no cartilage in his knee and I'm pretty sure he's officially no longer going to be playing (his doctor says the fact that he's even been playing the last four years is a 'medical miracle'), and Caulker isn't that good and iirc doesn't get a lot of picks.
You can totally count Adebayor :O It was actually a total shock to me that we actually got him. Modric is going to go and I've come to terms with it but honestly it's not the end of the world. His departure has been hyped so much that we've lost sight of the fact that he's just one midfielder. He's very good and pulls a lot of strings in that position but he's not the glue that holds the team together. Plus with the money we'll get for him we have a better chance of getting Moutinho from Porto. Arsenal are going absolutely nowhere and it pleases me greatly. Liverpool yeah, gonna hover around 8th as usual. Newcastle...man everyone has been saying the whole season that they'd drop off and god bless em they never did so I feel extremely uncomfortable counting them out.

Yeah, i mean Newcastle last season no one expected them, but this season comes pressure? playing Thursday Sunday fucked up Man City and look at there squad xD so i think Newcastle will struggle majorly this season.
Yeah leave Moutinho alone though He is great, i always liked him, dont turn him into a Yiddo ffs >.< Rumours around Hulk to you now with AVB meeting up with him during the Brazil camp for Olympics the other day.
I agree Modric isn't world class, but he did alot for you, more than VDV has done over a season, all be it VDV has won you games individually, when he isn't on he is dyre, and atleast modric is his usual sturdy self with his passing 90% of games through out the season.
And yeah your CBs can play LB/RB but they still CBs XD But i beleive Gallas is going to QPR? King yeah rumours around reitirement, Caulker is youngster, Kaboul is probably going be back up CB with Dawson Jan the prefered CB starters?

As much as so many Chelsea fans hate Tottenham, I actually really appreciated their efforts last season. Their football was incredibly attractive...can't get enough of those speedy wingers/fullbacks and commanding VDV/Modric/Parker presence. I also think Ade kicks ass. I think they have every chance of getting to the CL next season, but honestly I really rate Redknapp, and I'm not sure AVB will be able to get the best out of the team (although he might be given more leeway to put a project in place because he obviously is a quality manager).
I'm really interested to see if Liverpool can turn everything around. They had a really unlucky season, with the smallest conversion rate of chances to goals, but it was one of the worst seasons I've ever seen from Liverpool.
I also think that Man U have a very good chance of getting the Prem this year, coming back with a vengeance, they only just lost out to Man City and with Kagawa I think he will be the piece of the puzzle they need (although arguably they still need a Roy Keane-ish character).
And of course I am excited and pleased about Chelsea's chances this year, I think we will get 3rd in the league and we are improving, with the younger players needing a season to really gel and challenge for the win the in the following season . I doubt we will win the CL again but hope springs eternal lol.

Porto won't let go of João Moutinho for less than 35M€. That's his release clause. So that wouldn't leave much money for Tottenham... Even if they sell Modric for 40.

Lol can't see Spuds getting 40million (euros) for Modric, and Moutinho is defo worth that 35million Euro release cause, i've always liked him, should defo be bought by a big club.
Agree with most of your points minus the crap about spurs Sc <3 xD

Watching Chelsea v Seattle...Lukaku goal in 2 mins and Hazard in 10...enough to make your eyes water :D
|
Watching Chelsea vs Seattle as well lol 4-2 already at first half a lot of goals for 45 minutes.
|
Lol hell yes. 2 from Romelu, great stuff :D. Defense has been pretty poor and McEachran...oh god no. (Seattle just a classic example of what's so average about the MLS, not good defending). Loving Hazard and Marin so much.
PS this is an EXCITING friendly, watched Man City and Newcastle's the other day, so effing boring.

RDM made 7 changes after half time :D Love it when managers do mass subs in friendlies
