I lifted for Pinnacle Weightlifting, which was a little team based out of Colorado Springs that was started by Andy Garcy (RIP). I never quite got good enough for a Nationals. At my peak I think I was about 8kg away from qualifying for a junior nationals :<. East Coast Gold is pretty boss!

Question: Next week I'm biking to my friend's house for the hell of it. But it's like 30 miles, so that's going to be a hell of a lot of work. It also falls on a workout day. Is there anything I Should do to compensate?

Hahaha. At least you're not allergic. That would really fuck up your day.

Just grilled my mom a shitload of food for Mother's Day.

Here's the impromptu recipes as far as I can recall. I'm slightly drunk and about to fall asleep.

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 squeezed lemons
pour that garlic powder on
pinch of salt
pepper to taste (usually a good amount)
cilantro leaves
drizzle of olive oil

throw that shit into a ziploc bag. Lemon rinds and everything cus they'll be used later. Let it sit for at least 15 min. Then grill it. Put the lemons on the grill too.
----------------------------
grilled veggies

prepare some aluminum foil with a thin base of olive oil
cut up whatever the fuck veggies you want. in this case it was ...
1 onion diced
2 zuccini sliced
1 bigass bell pepper diced
1 tomato finely diced
about 1 lb of small mushrooms halved

Throw that on the foil. Add a little extra olive oil (not much) and...
ground rosemary
ground thyme
pepper
paprika

Wrap it up and grill it. After a little bit open it up and add the lemon rinds fro the chicken marinade and seal it back up. This supposedly cooks 8 servings but I ate like half of it LoL.

the bigger question is whether you're riding back as well.

Do your workout, rest and eat, then ride. np.

30 miles isn't 'that' bad as long as it's flat terrain.

Also, bring some energy bars and eat frequently + hydrate. I cycled across 1/2 of France through the moutains, and the worst mistake (first day) was not keeping my blood sugar up.

Yeah, I trained there for a couple months under Bob Morse. Those were probably the best couple months I ever had with weightlifting. Probably the best experience of my life so far. I wasn't a resident or anything, but it was inspiring to train on the same platforms some of our best have.

My friend was confused.

it's a 21 mile ride, and I'm going there and back, so more like 40. Not sure how flat it is. I rarely cycle though, and I've been exercising in the evening (aka after the ride) I guess I'll just shift things around to accomodate it.

If you go all-fucking-out for deadlifts like I do, cycling after your workout might not be the best choice, esp if you're not a regular cyclist.

One option you have is to make the visit to your friend a rest day and just work out the following day. Either that, or maybe go with bent rows and not deadlifts. Yesterday was my DL day and I would never ride a bike yesterday or even today - nothing's there to stabilize me.

awesome day today

- kayaking in the morning
- yoga in the afternoon
- lifting in the evening

Squat: 255 x 5 x 3 (PR)
Press: 125 x 5 x 3 (PR), cleared this so easily, I was surprised given how much I struggled up until 115
Clean: 3-3-1-2-2, really ran out of steam lol
