ive learned more from watching demuslim whitera and rain than i could ever posisibly learn off desrow, its not his fault as a player or coach, its the system its self. People automatically assume because they are paying for something its a good service, when actually your just being shown builds from liquipedia and then told how to do them. Demuslim has never shown a build order to anyone, however he will sit there explaining why he is doing what ever he is doing, be it scouting a ninja expo at 12 minutes just to be safe, or giving insight into what 2 bunkers at a terran ramp could be hiding. Whitera focuses more on his own build orders and provides entertainment with special tactics, he explains why he does what he does and what he hopes to achieve from it. Destiny shows you the mechanics, hes another good coach who wouldnt dream of forcing build orders onto people then telling them thats how they have to play. Like i said this isnt a dig at desrow, just the coaching scene in general. seem's people are too interested in making money by showing people how to win using a 1 base timing than actually teaching them how to play

Thats like saying a teacher at a school who isn't popular isn't a good teacher. Thats makes absolutely no sense unless I am a prissy toolbox or just a bandwagoneer.

Coaches in real sports yell at their players all the time. In fact, I'm pretty sure that whatever you think desrow has done badly, it pales in comparison to any hard nosed basketball or football coach. My best friend played college basketball and I spent a summer training with their team, the coach was the biggest asshole I've ever seen. You miss a defensive rotation in practice? You get yelled at and have to run laps until you throw up. Don't fill the lanes on a fast break in a game? You get benched and berated. And it's not like that experience is uncommon in sports, it's very common. If you've never experienced that kind of coach you've never played sports at a high enough level. This isn't some kinda happy go lucky fun handholding thing. If you're serious about getting good, better be ready to get yelled at. That will toughen you up and help you learn faster.

Marmz, the poster above me, for instance, has mostly only posted on DesRow threads to say things like "He's a great coach with lots of experience!" I don't understand what you are implying, if it was desrow creating fake accounts the mods would simply ban him. If its him asking his students to post in his threads, that seems like a smart thing to do and completely relevant to the discussion. I do not see what is wrong with that, and I don't see how having fewer posts discredits their opinions at all.

However, I have known TL since the release of sc2 beta and I have been reading stuff/learning builds/watching streams off these forums. It wasn't until recently that I created an account and actually started posting.

Never said anything about post count discrediting someone's opinion, I was just making an observation, but I stand by it. Desrow has earned a reputation for being very BM, to students, professional players, and even posters on TL. I open this thread and see 10+ posters whose entire posting history is over 50% praising Desrow and lauding his coaching ability. When we're talking about potentially thousands of dollars in coaching revenue on the line, spending a few hours on your friend's computers to improve your public image would make sense. TBH I probably should have just kept this thought to myself: I don't think Desrow is actually doing this, and as far as I can tell, he's got plenty of people in line to pay him $25/hour for coaching. Hot_Bid, I have nothing but respect for you. I appreciate what you do keeping TL running smooth and free of bullshit - I wasn't trying to step on anyone's toes. But I don't think the mods would have an easy time of determining whether or not someone was smurfing if they simply went to their school computer lab / work / friend's house to create their new accounts. The mods on TL have proven themselves to be vigilant and intelligent in the past, and catch this kind of stuff all the time, but you would be fooling yourself if you think it's impossible to have a smurf account on TL. So again, no discredit to the mods, no disrespect to anyone, I just thought it was odd that these people never login to TL except to praise Desrow. I do, however, completely accept that they're probably just his fans who don't post much.
